Cracker Barrel Old Country Store

The coffee was old, tasted terrible, and was cold as well. Our son asked for ketchup for his fries, but we had to request it multiple times before it arrived. Additionally, my husband didn’t receive the coleslaw he ordered; he eventually had to get up and find the server to request it. It was clear that the server lacked the knowledge and experience expected in a Cracker Barrel, which is usually known for its excellent service and great food. Sadly, that was not the case this time. We are now considering trying a different restaurant on our next visit to Southern Pines. Unfortunately our experience wasn?t that great. First they forgot a side for my son. Mistakes happen sometimes, I got it and I could over look that. However, it didn?t end there. My green beans for oily. To the point where I thought my green beans werecaught in a gulf coast oil spill. Not only that, but the hamburger my son ordered and the hamburger steak must have came fromthe same cow. They were both so dry, it tasted like the cow hadn?t had a drink of water in all its life. It was cooked for solong that the fat in the burger must have somehow evaporated. Really, they were so dry and hard I could have put laces on themand worn them for shoes.

When we entered the dining room, it was quite chilly, and my wife has a hard time with the cold. I requested if the fire could be stoked since we were seated right in front of the fireplace. Our waiter said he would check on it. When he returned, he informed us that they were out of firewood, even though there was clearly firewood right in the hearth. I really dislike being lied to. I feel it's a shame that the manager sent the waiter to deliver such a misleading response.

We were in the restaurant today for lunch, my waitress was exceptional. However we were informed after being the restaurant for twenty minutes that they only had 1 cook and there are 3 orders ahead of ours. No worries, I understand things happen but whenasked for the check, I was charged $6.40 for two teas. The food was enjoyable, but the service was quite slow. We waited 25 minutes before our order was taken, and when our meals finally arrived, they were warm rather than hot. We had to repeatedly ask for refills. It seemed like our waitress was either overwhelmed or simply having a rough day. I've never experienced service like this at CB before. Nevertheless, I plan to give it another chance in the future.

I visited this restaurant the day after Christmas and found the dining room to be quite chilly, causing the food to be cold as well. This was my third time dining here, and I've encountered cold food on each occasion. I don’t think I’ll be coming back.

The homemade food at this restaurant is truly delightful! The service is outstanding and incredibly friendly. I also love exploring the store; visiting Cracker Barrel Old Country Store is always a joy. It's a wonderful place to enjoy a meal and relax.

The Cinnamon French Toast is absolutely fantastic! We always have a great experience at this Cracker Barrel; the staff and service are consistently top-notch!
