We were looking forward to returning after the renovations were completed, after having had quite a few enjoyable meals previously. We were very disappointed with meals. Fish and chips had no tartare sauce, served with a curry sauce instead. Salt and pepper squid wasn't crisp...it did have tartare sauce which was shared with the fish and chips. The chicken schnitzel was far to thick. Each dish was served with salad. Mine was tiny tomato and a bucket load of lettuce, the other dishes were the same except they had a couple of shavings of cucumber. The decor was mish mash, some chairs had full backs some didn't, some tables were white, some were a ash type wood and some cream. It was very noisy...
Still a major disappointment in so many ways. The refurbishment leaves a lot to be desire with washed out colours and furniture. Limited menu and can someone explain why there isn't a beef snitty on the menu. The acoustics in the restaurant is beyond poor...as the noise from the main bar area makes it hard to talk to people on your table. My biggest gripe was that there are no Covid rules (nor a Covid Marshall) with the majority of people NOT wearing masks on entry nor ordering from the bar. We ate here today initially there was no one in the pub at pm and then a few people walked in. Hubby and I both had beef schnitzels with peppercorn sauce. Crumb was nice and crispy but the beef had a very funny taste...and smell about it. Had to use the sauce to actually eat it. Peppercorn sauce was basically gravox with some pepper in it. Chips were good and crispy. Menus was very basic, pizza, burgers, schnitzels, fish and chips. Long gone are the yoder platters and moorish meals that they used to have. Staff were busy clanging about the place rather then being at all attentive. Wouldn’t go back in a hurry.

I went a couple of weeks ago. While the new renovations were nice I and several friends were disappointed that beef schnitzel was NOT on the menu. The only option was sadly chicken schnitzel (not everyone likes chicken Please bring back a beef schnitzel option....Disappointed to see another hotel in the Unley area missing beef schnitzel from the menu.
Couldn’t find my reservation. Luckily there were plenty of tables. Had interactions with two female staff members- one of whom did not seem happy to be there. Garlic bread is huge. Chicken salad wasn’t the best I’ve ever had. Probably won’t return.
Came for a mid week meal, service was good and had your standard selection of drinks. Beef schnitzel very average and tough, chip over cooked and salad plain standard green salad. Vibe ok just felt very suburbia.
Great to see the hotel open very happy .Bar staff attitude terrible doing gymnastics between the bar entry.Must think JobKeeper is annoying for them.
