It was a rainy day in later October. Most of the restaurants were closed for the season when we drive thru the Loire Valley and decided to stop in Montsoreau for lunch crepes. Lucky for us, the owner/manager/waitress of Fleur de Sel was just opening up for the day. This place could not be more quaint if it was set for a movie. Mom could be seen in the kitchen firing up the crepe pans while the waitress/manager/daughter helped us understand that a galette is just crepe that isn 't rolled up like a burrito, but served with the filling piled in the middle. The restaurant is a small, converted mid-century home with mismatched furniture and a tiny, clean toilette. The prices were half what we had been paying in the big cities. By the we finished and moved on, the place was filled with locals enjoying a Sunday dessert of late lunch. Not a word of English was spoken and there is no carte english so have fun and be careful or else you might order ice cream on your seafood! (seriously, the charming staff won 't let you hurt or embarrass yourself.

Charming (as in homely) service. Speciality is traditional home made crêpes/galettes savoury and sweet. Although on the day my wife preferred an omelette which was delicious. Perfect for a quick lunchtime stopover. €51 including a half bottle of St Nicholas and 2 coffees. Charming village to walk around before or after lunch.

A great evening spent in Fleur de Sel. It is quite a small restaurant but my family and I were lucky to be given a table by the window overlooking the Loire on what had been a lovely sunny day. The owner was delightful and the food excellent. We would definitely recommend a visit !

Small, cozy crêperie with absolutely wonderful food. The owner runs it all, she cooks, serves and above all makes you feel at home. Everything local, she is very proud of how she treats the ingredients and it shines, the galettes and the crepes are sublime.
