Horrible waiter horrible experience. From the get go the owner/waiter was rude and told us he couldn’t do a party of 6– even though there were several empty tables (and it wasn’t a matter of closing soon). I couldn’t quite get his other justifications for why they didn’t want to serve us— but it was a strange tense exchange (esp when there was another table of 6 being served). In the end he acquiesced and set us on two tables of 4 and 2. The 3 kids struggled with the menu as it was in French so when we said we needed more time he was annoyed and rolled his eyes. Meanwhile the kids went to the bathroom— when they came out I told them to go ahead and get pizza elsewhere because I didn’t want to subject them further to his rude behavior. The three adults stayed and ate— but he had the audacity to charge us 15 euros for the kids use of the toilets— and no where was this marked as so— he just made it up. Fine to charge us —but 5 euros per person!! I see from the other reviews that he can be quite charming so clearly he is selective on who he pulls that for— don’t know if it was because we were American (but speaking French) or because we were multicultural group.. I don’t throw out that charge lightly, but I eat out all the time and never have I had such an explicitly rude encounter in a restaurant.
One of the worst experiences in France, and definitely the worst in Ax and surrounding area. Waited over 30m once seated to order, without even taking drinks or being offered water, wait staff are consistently rude, slow, and disrespectful. Cute place, crepes are overpriced for what you get, would not recommend.
Enjoyed a lovely crepes meal with an interesting mix of ingredients. The owner is always looking for new combinations of flavours. The service was great and the restaurant has a comfortable feel even in off season. It is tucked away in a little lane in the old town and definitely recommended.
