It's been a while since my last visit to this restaurant, but I can't stop thinking about their carne asada fries—they are, without a doubt, the best I've ever had! What I love most is that they use real cheese instead of the typical nacho cheese. The fries are outstanding, and the carne asada is top-notch, far better than what you usually encounter in Orange County. The chips come out warm, and the guacamole is fantastic! I'm also a big fan of their salsa bar; it's self-serve and has everything you could ask for. They've made some wonderful updates to the restaurant, and I really appreciate the new aesthetic. I've finally discovered some great Mexican food nearby! I had a craving for taquitos, and if you're familiar with North OC, you'll know that it's tough to find quality Mexican restaurants. I really appreciate the well-kept salsa bar, and the self-service option is a nice touch. The place is rarely crowded, so I hardly ever have to wait long for my food, which is fantastic. The horchata could use a little improvement, but it's not a major issue. The restaurant is clean and tidy, with no sticky floors in sight. The staff is friendly and courteous. I usually call in my takeout order, and it's always ready by the time I arrive to pick it up.
This place would be excellent if their food didn't taste like cleaning agent, especially the chips. I don't know if they're spraying over the food or spraying surfaces and not wiping them clean or spraying cleaning agent as the finishing touch but all of their food tastes like cleaning agent. If you like your Mexican food tasting like Mr Clean then this is the place for you but if you burp and soap bubbles come out don't say I didn't warn you.
The counter service was prompt, and the staff was very friendly. The lunch specials were tasty. We ordered a deluxe cheeseburger for $8.59 and a combo platter of enchiladas for $12.99. The only drawback was that the chicken enchiladas were slightly dry. Next time, I think I'll go for the cheese enchiladas instead, as they were excellent. I will definitely return! Thank you, Cucas! Cuca's is an excellent mexican restaurant in Foothill Ranch. My family has been eating here for years and never had a bad meal. The customer service is always great and the food is awesome. My go to is the taco enchilata combo, but everything we've had there has been good! It's a small, uassuming little restaurant in a strip mall, which is well worth checking out.
Coming from San Diego, this place was super disappointing. I ordered a carne asada burrito and it was so small (see pic for reference) and all it contained was meat, rice and beans. Not even pico de gallo or guacamole like your normal carne asada burrito. Food is just average but portion size and ingredients are really stingy. Definitely won't come back here.
Beyond the amazing food they cook up hot and fresh right then and there, Cuca 's offers great prices on all their dishes! Alexis is truly an amazing person so friendly, courteous, and she 's always fun and helpful! ! Stop in on 'Taco Tuesday ' for some great Mexican food !
