We are here in Houston for a vacation weekend. We stopped in for lunch and or the seafood bowl (pasta, corn, boiled egg, potatoes, shrimp, crab patties with a sauce) out of all that, the shrimp and pasta was okay. Everything else needed to be cooked longer and add seasoning. For as long as we were waiting, you would think they were throwing down in the kitchen. I also bought a banana pudding cupcake except that there was no banana pudding flavor. It's just a regular yellow cake mix with whip cream icing and a vanilla wafer on top. I've given Cupcake Houston several chances, but I have to say I'm not impressed. The prices are a bit high for what you receive. My biggest concern is the inconsistency in taste. Dear diners, I highly advise against ordering food from a dessert-focused establishment. The desserts are the only reason I’m giving this place 2 stars. The cabbage was decent and mildly tender, but that’s where the positives end. The jerk chicken and fried chicken were overly greasy, and the mac and cheese was completely bland— not a hint of salt or pepper to be found. The red beans and rice were dry, lacking any flavor, and somehow gooey at the same time. How does one manage to make red beans and rice dry? Lastly, steer clear of the spaghetti. It was nothing spectacular and I was kind of disappointed. Ordered the vanilla crown cake for Christmas. Did it look good ...sure...but I don't think it was worth $55. I thought it was going to be like a rum cake but with crown and instead it was just a dry vanilla Bundt cake with a sauce poured over the top that barely tasted of crown. I mean poke some holes in it and let it infuse at least I showed up on time to pick up and they had me wait for about 30 min. I think they were not ready and had to pour the sauce on top. I ordered their stawberry crunch cake before and that was good so thought this one would be equal. Just underwhelming.
I had the shrimp and salmon bowl and it was absolutely delicious. It was my first time trying salmon and I've even craving it since. I'm not a fan of 25.00 for what I had but to consider what I had and the serving size and how filling and not to mention the cost of inflation I understand the cost. It was delicious. The banana puffing wasn't that great it was just like regular pudding with the cookies and pecans it was OK and the peach cobbler was OK kind of bland. That's all that we had. I will definitely be back again for the salmon bowl though.
please don't waste your time or money. I got the salmon pasta **** was nasty asf and under cooked salmon. Mac &cheese was burnt not tasty what so ever chileee throw the whole establishment away. corn bread not sweet spend $30 on trash the cook need to throw in his/her apron ! Never coming back . Almost vomited while eating
I highly recommend avoiding this restaurant! It's overpriced, the food was undercooked, and the customer service was lacking. I ordered two salmon and shrimp bowls, and both had undercooked salmon. I will not be returning.

Don't waste your time and/or money. I had salmon and shrimp pasta which wasn't seasoned and undercooked with stewed tomatoes that were mushy and disgusting. I wanted to love this place but for $25 I’ll never go again.
I had the salmon pasta. The pasta was great salmon with salsa and the sides. They gave more than enough food!
