Da Ricardos in Croydon is without a doubt one of the most disappointing restaurants I 've ever experienced and I 've been to some pretty dire establishments over the years. When I dined here, I was quite frankly disgusted by the standard of the food, the service, and the general atmosphere of this so called Italian gastro pub. Let 's start with the infamous veal, which is by far the worst meat dish I 've ever had the displeasure of tasting. Overcooked, dry and beyond repair, it might as well have been used as leather rather than a suitable ingredient in any Italian dish. Then there was the coffee or lack of it, I should say. Do not recommend. Last time I ordered take away they forgot items. And the second time I tried to order they informed me they do not offer gluten free options, nor were willing to substitute gnocchi for normal pasta to make it gluten free. This fantastic little family-run restaurant offers excellent food and has wonderful staff. Service was quick for takeout. I would rate the food a perfect 5, service also a 5, and the atmosphere a solid 4. Highly recommend!
