Dashi Modern Japanese Tapas & Sake Bar

I had an incredible experience at Dashi! The service was top-notch and the sashimi was of great quality, and all for a reasonable price. I will definitely be telling my friends and family about this restaurant. Thank you for a wonderful evening. The ambiance was rated a 4, while both the food and service received a perfect score of 5. Recommended dishes include the sushi and sashimi, king fish sashimi, and edamame. Meal type was dinner and the price per person ranged from A$40 to A$60.

OMG My partner and I were just about to lose hope in finding a place with good sushi. We were convinced that there was nothing other than somewhat decent take away sushi shops (mostly rolls, box cut nigiris). This place offers a proper izakaya experience with fresh sashimi and nigiri, and actual wasabi ; We couldn’t tell if this was freshly ground but wouldn’t have been surprised. Thank you.

The food, staff Owners were all amazing. The food is fresh and quick from order to table. Tasty menu and good selection of wines, beers and Sake. Especially the chilled Pear Sake. Nice cosy atmosphere. Definitely recommend booking so you're not disappointed and miss out First time here and won't be the last. Highly Recommend.

Chicken Katsu Curry Take out. $50 for two meals. Comfortably the most dissapointing take out meal we have ever had. All three elements of each meal (rice, breadcrump chicken and the curry sauce) were awful. Not recommended at all. amazing. I think one of the best Japanese restaurants in melbs. definitiw the best in the half island. sushi sashimi were very fresh and the chefs are all japaners and provide them with the authentic, high quality Japanese culinary experience. dessert was yum!

Great Japanese food. Atmosphere a bit odd. Didn’t feel wholly relaxed maybe because it’s new and they might want to make the bench seats at our table more comfortable somehow. Cushions? Definite winner on food front.
