Davie's Roti Shop Smoothie

I really wish I had read the reviews before placing an order with this restaurant. It turned out to be the worst experience I've had when it comes to curry goat and oxtails. The oxtails tasted like a clove and cinnamon candle, and the curry goat was so bland that it seemed like no masala had been used. To make matters worse, the meat was overcooked. I spent $40 on this meal for myself and my boyfriend, and we could barely manage to eat three bites. As a Guyanese woman, I feel dissatisfied and disappointed with the food and cooking here. The wings were excessively salty, and the doubles were bland and mushy. To top it all off, the manager refused to give a refund since we ordered through Grub...

I enjoyed a delightful lunch featuring curry chicken, chana, dahl (served in a separate container), and buss-up shot roti. The spicy flavors were all exceptional, and the peppery taste in the dahl was a delightful surprise. I paired my meal with maubi, which was just right—not too bitter and not too sweet. The service was impressively good for a counter-service food shop, and I loved the Guyanese accent of the woman who took my order. To finish off a lovely experience, I grabbed a mango smoothie to go. There are plenty of other dishes I’m eager to try, so I will definitely be back!

I ordered from this restaurant a few days ago and decided to try a leftover bake and shark sandwich today. Unfortunately, I found a piece of what seemed like plastic or rubber inside it, which absolutely grossed me out. Additionally, the bake and shark isn't that great here either. I had it fresh on the day I ordered, but even then, the ketchup and mustard really overwhelm the entire sandwich. I might have considered leaving a three-star review for just that, but finding that plastic/rubber piece was simply disgusting.

The oxtail and jerk chicken here are incredibly addictive! This restaurant offers a wide range of options and provides excellent customer service. The smoothies are made fresh. I highly recommend this restaurant to everyone!

I found wax particles in my smoothie, and the food was greasy. The tamarind sauce was overly salty, which left me very frustrated. To make matters worse, I accidentally swallowed a piece of plastic.
