Farewell to one of Wilmette's first original destination restaurants. We loved their dedication to original Mexican cuisine and spirits. Wow. They will be missed. Our town has grown to become a competitive restaurant scene now in 2023 as opposed to a quaint little burg whose shops serviced we locals rather than drain our rather large pocketbooks with dozens of choices for overpriced food and beverages. Gone are the charming small businesses who looked out for its local population to be replaced by chain and theme joints out to bank as much as humanly possible in their routinely short lifespan. I highly recommend trying the Enchiladas, Chicken Mole, Tacos, and Carnitas. Each dish is bursting with flavor and beautifully presented, making for a memorable dining experience. The service was impeccable, with attentive staff that made us feel right at home. The ambiance of the restaurant is warm and inviting, perfect for a cozy dinner. Overall, a fantastic place to enjoy a delicious meal!
The margaritas were fantastic, and the service was excellent. I enjoyed a Spicy Nuevo on the lawn before dinner, which was a nice touch—where else can you enjoy a drink on the lawn these days? My chicken enchiladas were delicious, and I didn't even need to take a photo—they were that good. As for the chips and salsa, they were amazing—super fresh and crispy, with no greasiness at all. Highly recommend!
Closing 01 August, so what difference does it make? Several good tequilas still in stock, but $17 for three tacos, NOT double-tortilla-ed, and a spoonful of rice? C'mon... I would advise against ordering the to-go margaritas; they feel like a total scam. It costs $26 for margaritas meant for two people, but you only get 10 ounces, which isn't enough to fill two small glasses. On the bright side, the food was excellent, even for takeout.

This is hands down the best restaurant in the United States (at least in my opinion). It's such a shame they're closing next month. Food: 5/5, Service: 5/5, Atmosphere: 5/5.
I never got the chance to eat here. They don't accept reservations, and as parents, we simply don't have the time to wait for over an hour. It's a shame.
