Desta's Ethiopian Cuisine

I visited this restaurant with my sister for a belated birthday dinner, and we had a fantastic experience. The staff were extremely friendly and eager to help us, especially since it was our first time there (although I had done some research ahead of time and had a pretty good idea of what I wanted). The samosas were amazing—I could have easily eaten a whole plate of them! I’ve been wanting to try injera for a while after reading about it, and I was delighted with how delicious it was. I ordered the doro wot and I’m so glad I did. It came with house-made cheese that was exceptional, especially when paired with the injera, along with a salad and kik alicha, which were both very tasty as well...

My husband and I have been here twice and both times we've been very satisfied with our experience. The restaurant, although small, has ambient lighting, lovely wall art and a deep red that completes the feeling of coziness and fine dining. Our waiters both times went above and beyond to serve us. They explained the items on the menu, showed us how to eat them, kept our drinks refilled, and checked on us periodically, all with a smile. Our food was delicious and came quickly. I ordered Doro Wots both times because I enjoyed it so much the first time. If you're looking for a unique culinary experience in an enjoyable environment, look no further.

Desta's is a fantastic restaurant that serves delicious food. As newcomers to Ethiopian cuisine, we were truly impressed and will certainly come back. This lovely family-owned establishment is run by the owners themselves, who also served us and offered excellent recommendations. We tried both the meat combo and the vegetarian combo dishes, which let us enjoy a wide variety of their menu. The meat samosa was a wonderful appetizer, and the baklava for dessert was a delightful surprise. If you're looking for an authentic local eatery with amazing food, Desta's is the place to go.

You won’t find a friendlier place than this! I had a craving for injera and decided to visit Desta’s for the first time today. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with a warm smile and saw my favorite injera waiting for me on the counter. I had a lovely chat with someone I believe was Desta, and I can’t wait to return to try more items from the menu, as well as some Ethiopian coffee. I feel fortunate to have this restaurant so nearby! This restaurant is a hidden gem. Everything we tried was incredibly flavorful. We ordered the platter for two, and every dish was delicious. The atmosphere is clean and charming, featuring white tablecloths beneath glass. The service was attentive and friendly. As someone who has never had Ethiopian food before, I was pleasantly surprised—it was somewhat similar to Indian cuisine, yet distinct in its own way. I definitely plan to return!

I can't say enough good things about this restaurant. The food is excellent and flavorful. It is a little different dining experience from other places, as many of the dishes are not so familiar at first. That's okay! Another thing about this place is the service is excellent. Very friendly people that care about what they are doing. Try it!

The Ethiopian food is tasty here and the staff is friendly. The coffee is served in a different style as can be seen in the photos. I had the lamb tibs and it was delicious. My friends who had the veg combo also liked their food. Would say the spices are a bit similar to indian flavor but not the same.

Food was fabulous and services was even better. They don't serve alcohol but there is a liquor store in the same strip mall and you can grab a bottle of wine and they will serve it to you for a 5$ corkage fee. This is a dining experience.....Super fun. We will be back. Reserva una mesa ahora

The atmosphere and people were wonderful. It was my first encounter with Ethiopian food. Not a huge fan of using my hands instead of utensils but the experience was good. Btw, my grand -daughters name is Desta and that played a major factor in why we went.

This is an excellent restaurant. It's unfortunate that they're closing down. The food was wonderful.
