My most recent visit was extremely disappointing. Considering I grew up going to canopy often, my expectations are that of what they use to serve up. I no longer live in the area so I had not been here for about 4 years. They have new owners who are very friendly but unfortunately the food was terrible. The same tradition and quality is not practiced. I always use to get the pit turkey with tiger sauce. Needless to say the “pit” turkey was lunch meat turkey thrown on the pit , literally ? Inside the glass counter was actual Deitz and Watson lunch meat. I now know why. The sandwich had a horrid taste, like a fire starter fluid. The fries weren’t edible because they were so hard. I stopped by for lunch, and I was pleasantly surprised by how delicious the food was! Don't judge the place by its exterior. Normally, when I order a pit turkey sandwich elsewhere, it's dry and requires sauce, but not here at Deven's! The turkey was juicy, the sandwich was packed with flavor, and the fries were perfectly crispy. I can't wait to return!
Quiet out of the way, just off of Ritchie hwy. Kinda like a hole in the wall place but nicer. Food is good. If ur used to fast food burgers this is not it. They specialize in PIT pit ham, pit beef, pit style hot dogs and such. Nothing fast cooked. Everything has been cooking since long b4 u walked in the door. So ur in for good food not fast food.
I got the Maryland crab soup and there was not one shred of crab meat in The whole bowl and every single vegetable in the bowl was uncooked it was still hard every vegetable even the potatoes were still hard it was by far the worst imitation of Maryland's traditional crab soup ever Reserva una mesa ahora
The pit beef here is outstanding! I was pleasantly surprised that they ask how you’d like your meat prepared, something I haven't come across at other pit beef spots. The buns are generously sized, and the fries are really tasty too. I highly recommend this restaurant!
