My partner Andrew and I were married at Diamond’s Edge Restaurant Marina in September of 2023 on what was one of the best days of our lives. Planning for the event began roughly a year earlier when, after returning to Maine to raise a family, we sought a wedding venue that would highlight the treasured coastal natural beauty while still being close to Portland. We came to find out that Diamond’s Edge Restaurant was the diamond in the rough we sought. Stepping off a classic Casco Bay Ferry onto the dock, you are immediately transported away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life into an iconic scene of Coastal Maine tranquility (and away from cell service! No cars are allowed on the island, resulting in a truly relaxed island experience. History buffs also have the chance to explore historic Fort McKinley a highlight we didn’t appreciate until after the fact. Whether your guests stay at the Inn at Diamond Cove, a vacation rental, or visit for the day, it will surely be an experience they won’t forget. The venue itself was remarkable on every front. The scene of a tent reflecting on the ice pond is stunning, only exceeded by the view our guests were treated to with the cove in the background during the ceremony The culinary experience was exceptional, and it was an absolute treat getting to choose from their diverse and rich options for appetizers, entrées, and drinks. But what sealed the deal was the amazing staff of the restaurant, marina, and inn. Their willingness to go the extra mile, find solutions, and focus on the details was so assuring, only exceeded by their commitment to Andrew I savoring every moment on our wedding day. Restaurant was recommended by a neighbor on a neighboring island. Took a water taxi, arrived 15 minutes early and were told by the large woman manning the hostess stand to wait at the bar; of a mostly vacant restaurant, and later we were shown to our table. Waitress immediately took our order, but after an hour and 15 minutes waiting we had to track our waitress down to inquire about our order in a mostly vacant restaurant and were told I 'll check on it. I related don 't bother as our return water taxi was scheduled for two hours return, and was less than 30 minutes out. No food, horrible service, and large hostess overhead complaining about our canceling an order after an hour and 15 minutes of waiting. Good news is that heirloom tomato sandwiches--kudos Two Byrds on Chebeague--and Duke 's mayo were excellent upon return, on a beautiful night. Diamond 's Edge, never again. Other than appetizers--middling--can 't tell you about the food that never arrived, on Labor Day weekend.

I had the pleasure of photographing a wedding at Diamond's Edge this summer and WOW, it was such a great experience. The rooms are great for getting ready in. The staff is so attentive and will gladly cart you around the island as you need it, and you will definitely need it with so much going on during your Diamond Island Wedding. Diamond's Edge provides a professional, efficient, and friendly experience. Highly recommended!

A magical spot and a true hidden gem among Portland’s dining options. Take a 30 minute ferry from the city and dine by the water on a quiet, secluded cove. Food and drink are a little pricey, but solid, and the staff are always friendly and accommodating. 10/10 for a memorable date, place to bring friends from out of town, or adult family reunion.

Absolutely beautiful restaurant. Had a table right on the water in the shade. They even grilled a chicken breast for my dog.
