The first thing I need to mention is that the owner came off as a bit odd. When we asked simple questions, he seemed overly defensive. For instance, we inquired if the brisket for our double order was meant to be cut that small, as we expected more meat. We weren’t being confrontational at all, but he responded with, "Yes, I weighed it and cut it myself," even though we could see the other person doing the cutting. It was a strange and defensive way to answer a straightforward question.

I had a fantastic experience at Dickey's Barbecue Pit last Friday for lunch. The highlight of the meal was the excellent slow-cooked BBQ meats, which are definitely the main attraction for the customers. Xzavier took great care of me, especially when I mentioned that I wasn't a fan of the way the potato casserole was prepared. He kindly allowed me to choose another side for free, and the BBQ beans were delicious, especially with the warm BBQ sauce that paired perfectly with the flavorful pulled pork. Avoid this place if you can. I visited on a weekend around 3 PM and it took just two staff members a full 20 minutes to scoop cold sides from a trough into to-go cups for me and the person ahead of me. They had run out of water cups, so I was forced to buy an outrageously overpriced bottled water. I was told there was free vanilla soft serve nearby, so I went around the corner next to the grimy BBQ sauce station, where there was indeed a soft serve machine—but no cones. Oscar was amazing during our visit! It was our first time at Dickey's Barbecue Pit, and both the food and service exceeded our expectations. The meat was so tender it practically melted in my mouth. I accidentally left my purse behind, but when I called, Xavier was very helpful; he found it in the booth and kept it safe in his office until I came back. When I showed him my ID, he kindly offered me a brownie, noticing how worried I was. The staff was truly exceptional—friendly and attentive. Thank you!
