Almost always need to come to Din Tai Fung when in LA. We went Saturday morning around 11am and only waited 10min. So definitely recommend coming early to beat the line. For appetizers we got sweet pork ribs, seaweed tofu salad, and the tofu noodles salad. Definitely liked the tofu noodle salad the best. The pork ribs seemed a tad too sweet for me. For the soup dumplings, we got the pork and truffle mix dumplings, and the crab and pork mix dumplings. I liked the pork/truffle mix dumplings a lot, and didn’t really like the crab/pork mix. Please know that the wait time can be high. If it's high it's for a good reason. So many options on the menu, We ordered family style the waitress recommended two items to be ordered per person to be shared. We ordered garlic green beans, chicken soup dumplings, pork soup dumplings, pork wonton soup, fried rice with pork chop, beef tenderloin with bell peppers, pork dumplings, and for dessert chocolate Mochi long bao. There are only two downsides to Din Tai Fung-you typically have to make reservations at least a couple weeks ahead of time (unless you're okay with doing a walk-in and waiting for a while especially during the evening hours), and they don't validate parking. Everything else here is amazing though--the food and restaurant space, the service, and awesome recommendations from the staff. Most of the items are family style, and portions are great. Some favorites include: the cucumber salad, chicken xiao long bao, vegan dumplings, garlic string beans, vegetable fried noodles, and of course you can't forget about the chocolate mochi dessert xiao long bao. Awesome Taiwanese soup dumplings in Los Angeles county. If you’ve never had a xiao long bao before then your missing out, BIG TIME. Din Tai Fung makes carefully crafted and super flavorful soup dumplings. Now your there for the dumplings but they also serve a plethora of other delicious, authentic or close to snacks. Of all the DTF locations I have been to (7) this one ranks on the bottom in terms of quality. Everything tasted too bland compared to the other stores and we had some quality issue with the XLB. The staff was great however.I just wish the quality control was much better at this location, as I expected the typical DTF quality food from all of their restaurants, but this one is definitely below par.

Good food quality with fresh ingredients. Very stable food quality across the globe (been to the Din Tai Fung in Singapore, Taiwan, Japan, and many US locations). Love the food and service, but unfortunately no free parking.Parking: Surprised to find out Din Tai Fung does not provide parking validation… only 1-hour free parking.

Hot tip: always put your name on the waitlist before you start deciding on dinner, or better yet come just before they open at 5 for the first seating! DTF's new chicken xlb hits all the right spots.Add in their usual tasty fare and you got a solid dinner locale for friends and family!

Din Tai Fung never disappoints! Everything was delectable. Making a reservation in advance is highly recommended. The service was friendly and didn’t feel rushed even though it was busy at the time we went. The food came out quickly and our server was attentive to our drinks!Food: 5/5

This place is awesome. The spicy cucumber app is 5/5. Mainly the reason I come here lol. Soup dumplings are of course on point 5/5Love the bar area too. Service is always nice. Ambiance is fine, like a normal casual yet semi upscale restaurant. Prepare for a wait at peak times.

The food here is always good. Service was excellent too. You will have to plan in advanced of you like to eat here because the wait to get a table can take an hour or two but the wait for the bar is normally shorter like less than 30 minutes depending on your luck.
