They say a picture is worth a thousand words, and that certainly applies to Diva Delights, one of the best soul food restaurants I’ve ever visited. Most of the meats are prepared fresh to order, and my favorites are the steak and grilled shrimp, especially when paired with mac and cheese and potato salad. I also really enjoy the lamb chops when they're featured as a special. The restaurant is owned by a single Black woman, and it’s clear that she pours her heart and soul into every dish she creates. I got the Build a dinner meal, which was 21 dollars (and 3 dollars extra for the steak), and it was well worth it. I got fries, mac and cheese, steak, and sauteed shrimp. The fries were cooked to perfection and seasoned amazingly, the mac was cheesy, hot, and delicious. The build a dinners side 1 is more than side 2, so whichever you want more of get it for side 1. The shrimp was seasoned to perfection and came in a large serving, under that was the steak, which came in a bbq-type sauce/marinade (Could be either) and was seasoned, again, to perfection. This place is a hidden gem and I am so, so glad I found it.

I was very disappointed. I got the two entree dinner meal. I received 6 shrimp and a salmon filet. For the sides, I got the mac and cheese and collard greens. I also got a side of potato salad. The potato salad had a good flavor but the potatoes were not cooked well, almost crunchy. The collard greens were really bad, did not seem cleaned well or seasoned well. The shrimp did not have much flavor. I enjoyed the salmon and macaroni and cheese, overall portions were average. Given my experience coupled with the cost, I do not think I would try again.
This was my first time ordering from this restaurant, and it was quite disappointing. I ordered both fried chicken and baked chicken, but the fried chicken came in tiny pieces for some reason. I really don't understand why they cut it like that. The sides were all overly salty, with too much seasoning. The potato salad was very watery, almost like a liquid, and had very few chunks of potato in it. The baked chicken tasted alright, but it was rock-hard and clearly cooked some time ago. Overall, we just didn’t enjoy the meal.

The restaurant is overpriced and overrated. I ordered the baked chicken, but it was undercooked. I wouldn't recommend it.
