just a short drive from shrewsbury you will find a great little land pub served great food. as soon as they enter the bar/restaurant area, the service is excellent. the esstic are well distributed with a beautiful wood burner that invites them into the space. You don't have to wait too long before your food arrives and I can tell you that there's a lot of it, make sure your hungarian is. if they can fit into a desert, then it's worth it, especially the crumb and crawl. We decided to try the Christmas menu, but I'm sure it's going to be good.

Bad smash on the A49, traffic diverted through Astley village, impossible to get home (in Astley) with the car, dropped into the Dog in Lane to ask if I could leave the car and walk home, they were most gracious, so left the car there after drinking a VERY nice San Miguel on tap.

I had an excellent dining experience with great service at a reasonable price. And yes, the chips are definitely worth it! After many visits, I was not disappointed. Thank you to Colin, Sue, and Shirley!
