We arrived just after the Inn opened and given a table inside (at our request). We hadn 't booked but it soon became clear that many people had. We ordered from the Sandwich menu: a ham, lettuce and tomato baguette and a cheese and pickle baguette. The baguettes were fresh, crisp on the outside and soft on the inside. However the cheese and pickle baguette should have been called 'pickle with some cheese '. The amount of pickle was overpowering and made the baguette almost inedible. By sharing the two baguettes and removing much of the filling from the offending one, we were able to eat both baguettes. We pointed out to a member of staff that the amount of pickle made the food inedible but i...

The outside area needs a tidy up as the canopy is dirty, mouldy with lots of weeding around base. Spoils the potential of a lovely view while dining!"

I was here for lunch with husband and adult daughter and just did not rate it none of us did. I had the chicken wings as a main course. It was good but a very messy dish. A good job we had ordered water and had lots of tissues because we were not offered extra napkins or a bowl of water to clean up Husband had meat pie which was mediocre and daughter vegan burger which she did not rate. I might say they do not ever complain about food. We had only the one dessert orange and mango sorbet. If course the two scoops had to be the powerful orange and only one of the much nicer mango. The loos were only just passable and could have done with a good coat of paint. Feel the owners are relying on the...
Visited Loch Ness and Dores beach whilst staying in Inverness. We were looking for somewhere to eat and this was the obvious choice given its location although some of the reviews we read before going in were a bit off putting. Thankfully the food was great. We were able to sit outside whilst eating which was nice. The fish and chips were really nice and all of the food was good value. Speedy service as well considering how busy it was. It does have a fairly small menu but there should be something for everyone on there. Would definitely recommend, don’t be put off by bad reviews.
The food at this inn is atrocious. We were served tomato soup that tasted like Ragu with basil on top. I had the aubergine stack described like a layered vegetable lasagna, which was a giant rubbery mushroom with three tiny chips of eggplant, more Ragu, and a minuscule. amount of rubbery cheese. My husband had the worst fish and chips we were served in Scotland a frozen, greasy fish patty accompanied by chips straight out of the freezer. I guess this is a place you sit outside and admire the view with a few drinks. You certainly shouldn't eat there!!! Reserva una mesa ahora
While the food is not the best that we have had in Scotland, it was fairly standard pub fare. There are a few vegan options which for us is a bonus. What saves this place is the great location (you never know, Nessie might join you) and the great service. The staff when we visited were excellent. Friendly, professional and knowledgeable about the menu. I notice there have been a few less complimentary reviews regarding the food, but to be honest, we thought it was fine. A friendly business and a beautiful spot to find Nessie.
The food is very average but the views are what makes this place. Fast and friendly service and a reasonable menu. We sat outside where they have plenty of tables, a lot of them in a covered area. This meant that we could sit and have our lunch of sweet chilli wrap and chips with some fabulous views of the loch. It’s obviously a busy place but they seem well equipped to cope and it didn’t feel overcrowded or overwhelmed by the number of guests.
Cycle to Dores Inn for some lunch many years since we ate there and it didn’t disappoint. Great choices on menu my Husband went for the traditional Fish Chips he says it was 10/10 I went for Sunday Roast Beef great portions sizes if I am picky my beef a bit chewy for my liking but what a plateful with a nice gravy and homemade Yorkshire pudding all in all great value for money
Was always impressed with the food previously but it’s gone majorly down hill. No longer sell onion rings as a side portion, Fish was not in beer batter like stated on the menu, chips have changed and portions have gotten smaller. Even the ice cream in the dessert is not what it used to be. Cutting costs but also quality. Will sadly not be back. Reserva una mesa ahora
Tanya and her staff made us feel so welcome from the few drinks before our dook to our dinner in the bar with the dog. A special mention to Tanya's daughter that serviced us we both mentioned the word exceptional when discussing her as a member of staff. The food and service were more than we could have asked for. Big thank you

"Liver and onions was creamy and tasty. This is a quiet small hotel restaurant and a very nice menu. The sticky toffee pudding was unfortunately store bought and just average but enjoy the main course."

"Very poor quality food. My two children couldn’t eat anything of the very limited offer on “curry only” night, sadly reminiscent of school dinners!"
