To me a bbq is all about the ribs. Detroit really does not have great ribs. The bbq's tend to over cook them and leave them in the warmers to long. Eddies really does ribs perfect. When they come out of the smoker, they are meaty, not over cooked, toothsome which is great, not fall of the bone, which to me is bad texture, light grey on the side, not brown and the tips are also great. That is the good news. The bad news is, like many places the ribs are smoked over night and are great at lunch time, but not at dinner. Good news, on the weekend they have a batch come out around 7 pm, so they are as near to perfect as you can get. Call to reserve your night batch of ribs and talk to Eddie, not...

Without a doubt, the ribs here are fantastic—deliciously finger-licking, hickory smoked, and perfectly tangy. I really enjoyed the barbecue sauce. I also appreciate that they have a nice sit-down area for dining in. However, I do have two main complaints: first, they were out of nearly half the menu, and second, the mac and cheese was a disappointment! It lacked cheese and had a strangely mushy texture. I took it home and tried to improve it with my own cheese, salt, and pepper, but I still couldn't fix the mushiness. Additionally, I wasn't thrilled that sides didn't come with the meat. I paid $10 for just four ribs without any sides, which I consider too pricey.

Yum! First time into Eddie Smoke's BBQ, and it won't be the last! Walk into the door and instantly greeted with the smell of deep roasting BBQ! Ribs, wings, brisket, pulled pork.. they have it all. Even the potatoes come shipped up from down south. We ordered 1/2 lb of brisket and pulled pork, rib snack and chicken tips with a side of smoked beans and Mac n cheese. It was delicious!! If you love good meat, people, and BBQ then Eddies is the place to be. I would highly recommend to sto. We will be back soon to try the pound cake and potatoes, as well as order more BBQ.

I recently visited this restaurant and was quite disappointed. The food was decent, but it didn't impress me. The customer service was lacking—there were no waitstaff available, no drinks included with the meal, and the place felt stuffy. To make matters worse, they were out of almost everything I wanted to try, including the green beans and mac and cheese. Overall, it was a terrible experience, and I won’t be returning or recommending it to friends or family. They seem very disorganized and haven’t even managed to cover the basics. Never again. Eddie Smokes offers fantastic BBQ, especially their Beef Plate Ribs available on weekends. For those who may not be familiar, these are large beef ribs (not the typical pork) often served with a delectable Texas-style sauce. Eddie’s BBQ is exceptional, and they also have unique dishes like Chicken Tips. Additionally, their menu includes Brisket, Rib Tips, Spare Ribs, and more, all of which we have tried and thoroughly enjoyed. Give it a try—you won’t be disappointed!

Best Ribs Ever!!! Wow! We were such big fans of Eddie's BBQ in Utica and were so disappointed when we discovered it had closed. Imagine our delight when we found out about the new location in Lathrop Village! We ordered a combo platter with a slab of ribs and chicken tips. Both were delicious, but those ribs were truly something special! The rub on them was the best I've ever had! My only suggestion would be to use sturdier napkins!

This was my second choice for ribs but it will be my first choice from now on. I'm not big on sauce so I'm really glad it's placed in a container on the side. Greens, Mac& cheese baked beans are good. Ribs are delicious and tried something new called chicken tips. A pleasant surprise with this item! Will definitely order it again. Will try the brisket next time!

This is hands down the best food I've ever had! I can't help but wish I could eat meat every day. If you're a Yelper, you absolutely have to try the brisket. I really appreciate that the owner knows me by name and offers me extra BBQ sauce. I will definitely be returning again and again! Reserva una mesa ahora

The smell brought us here! After ordering our brisket they asked do we like the lean or fatty part! Who does that?! That's amazing that we get asked that question. So friendly and personable. Totally supporting small black owned businesses in our area!

The ribs are absolutely fantastic. They’re packed with meat and have an amazing flavor in every bite. We’ve visited several times in the past few months, and each time, the ribs have made the trip across town totally worthwhile.
