During my school time in the late '70s/early '80s, Tivoli was always the meeting place, at the time the bullet of ice cost 25 Pfennig. Forty years later, I gave Tivoli a farewell visit with a school friend, and at the end of the year the ice cream café closes. Amazing that the owners are still the same as at the time; understandable that they are now retiring. In all nostalgia, enjoyment was more limited. The spaghetti ice was not as good as I remembered, and the crowd was quite clear. With the self-service I could have lived, but plastic ice cups are unacceptable for environmental reasons and also in view of the price you can imagine how much garbage there comes together on a single sunny d...
I can only forgive a star here. Self-service for terrace guests, staff/owners bored and lustless, you don't have the feeling of being a welcome guest at all and that, although not much was going on. A small spaghetti ice cream small ice cream, cream, two hazelnuts and 3 walnuts) 6,80 Euro!!! But what I found the most chilling, the ice was served in a disposable plastic cup!! Not only that I expect a lovingly made ice cup in proper dishes on the terrace in the ice cream parlour, plastic disposable is not at all!! Too bad, that's not the Tivoli what I knew from my childhood.
On the terrace only self-service, despite the bouncing around 4 people inside,and if you go forward to submit your order, unfortunately you wait for a friendly smile to the welcoming Hello . Despite that you eat there, and not ToGo you get your order in a plastic cup, sustainability is different. We're not coming anymore.
The ice is ok (middle class). Operation (what you can call) is relatively unfriendly. Also the owner does not make a pleasant look. The balls are very small, but for 1Euro per ball very ok. From next year it will be closed. Only cash is possible and you have to get the ice yourself to the table.

We visited the terrace of Tivoli: The ice was fine. Self-service somewhere else okay. We find plastic cups and spoons (also for the price) unpleasant and ecologically not contemporary.
Here the ice cream is made with the best ingredients. Every variety... a pleasure. Hygiene guidelines are 100% implemented.
It's not better. Perfectly organized, delicious ice cream and the coffee tastes great. Very recommended
