I was a fan of the Concord location, so was pleased to see the expansion to Alamo. The beer is good and the menu is well thought out. I work nearby and often swing by for lunch. Sadly my last 3 visits have not worked out. The first I had a lovelybeer(shortie's revenge) but my fish tacos were cold in the middle. I get an hour for lunch, so there was no time toretry. Last time I sat at the bar while a white haired gentleman did stuff that did not include taking my order, or looking inmy direction . I waited 15 minutes and left. E.J. Phair Brewing Company is a newly opened spot since July 2019, and I’m happy to overlook a few areas that could use improvement. I've been here eight times as of August 19th and really enjoy the experience. It’s a unique place in Alamo, offering a great selection of beers and pub food. While some beers and dishes aren’t to my taste, overall there’s plenty to like. I think people who judge based on just one visit can be a bit impatient and too quick to criticize. I suggest trying the place a few times and sampling different items before deciding. I’m especially excited for the outdoor patio once it’s finished—it’s going to be amazing!
Well, the reviews for poor service are right. I walked in, and the server told me I could sit anywhere, so I sat on the patio. I waited and waited for someone to come, but nobody came. I finally left to get a burger at the place across the parking lot.This is not the first time this has happened. Too bad, they probably need the customers.
The Reuben sandwich was fantastic! Today, they offered the Double Barrel IPA and Alamo IPA on tap, alongside a great variety of their own beers and ales, plus some guest selections. Although there’s still no sign on the building, I heard a metal one is in the works. Parking in the Plaza center can be somewhat challenging.

This is one of my favorite spots in the area. You can't beat the Wednesday deal (Smashburger and beer for $18! My only complaint/suggestion to management is to add more lagers/pilsners to the beer menu (too many IPAs for me!
We ordered 3 different items...salad, burger and Jaegersnitzel. Each was awful in their own special way. Throw in the slow service and it was quite the night.
Food and service is good. Chairs are not comfortable and music was too loud on the back patio.
