I was so happy when we finally went early enough to get into this very popular eatery. So many times we tried but the place was packed so the secret is to get there by 5, Florida early bird style. Loved the cocktails and our bartender made great recommendations. The food was also excellent as expected. Hope to return soon. Fabulous good quality food at reasonable prices! I loved the steak tacos! The tortillas were soft, fresh and tasted homemade. Great sauce, slaw and good quality sirloin steak. The meatloaf was also good! Beautiful job on presentation. The chicken and rice soup was hearty and a good portion size (for the smaller size). The plantain nachos were a great appetizer-loved the pulled pork.

Was visiting Alabama for 2 days and so happy I found this place! The food was perfect and fresh. So flavorful. My sister and I inquired if they had vegan options and Yes, they did! The bartender Stephen, was extremely helpful, professional and kind. In the 2 days we were in Alabama we ate here twice. Oh and their coffee is the Best! I highly highly recommend El Barrio! El Barrio was wonderful! I loved how there was hand sanitizer and QR code menus at every single table definitely showed their emphasis on cleanliness! Our server was great ? he was SO friendly and on top of it. The food was delicious one of the best meals we?ve had between our recent ventures to New Orleans, Alabama, and Mississippi. Definitely recommend!

Food was stellar. Had Carnita tacos, charro beans, chips and salsa. Everything was good. Bartender is in wrong profession though. Zero social skills. Never said a single word to me and barely a word to any other customer. Price per person: $30–50 Food: 5 Service: 3 Atmosphere: 3

it is hard to find great food for a traveling vegan in many parts of the south. the vegan tostada was full of taste with a large mix of ingredients. when I am back in birmingham, this will be a stop to lunch or dinner.
