"Good food in a nice atmosphere for decent prices. Have been here two times (2011, 2013) and would come back when in the vicinity again. El Jefe is very polite and helpful. Family business at a walking distance from the touristic boulevard."

We stumbled upon this great little restaurant by pure chance. It 's not pretentious or grand from the outside, in fact most tourists wouldn 't give the place a second look. It is typically Spanish and it 's customer base is just that..Spanish. We wanted a simple lunch, probably the ever popular menu del dia but one that offered a bit more authenticity than those on the front line to the beach. We arrived at just after 13:00 hrs and managed to get their last available table for four. The place was packed with locals within another 15 minutes and , in truth, you can understand why. The owner, lovely man, greeted us with real warmth. He even pulled up a chair and took time to explain that €16 menu attracted daily specials not shown on the standard menu, never experienced this before but what a pleasure. The food was great, well cooked and delicious. The staff were brilliant, happy and nothing was to much trouble. You have to pay extra for wine but at €9 for a decent bottle of rose, not such a bad deal. We were even offered a free digestive glass of lemoncello after the meal. This isn 't a grand restaurant by any means, but it is air conditioned and comfortable. It serves good, honest fayre, and you come out well fed and happy..just like all the locals who chose to take their lunch in the place.

This is one of the few restaurants left in Rosas where you can get decent food at reasonable prices with friendly service. It is not aimed only at tourists (like most of the places here) and as a result you can get authentic food at uninflated prices. From the set menu, I had melon with ham to start. The quality AND quality of the ham was amazing and the Spanish white melon was sweet, just right. For main, I had their paella (sharing with my wife) which was good, particularly the two huge tasty prawns on top. For less than €20, my 3 course meal was very good value in Rosas. There used to be simple straight forward friendly places like this all over the town but most have either closed down or moved up market which means same or worse food on fancy plates at much higher prices....

A great little find, one street back from the seafront. Two menus, 12 .95 and 17.95 euros, great service, lots of locals . We opted for the 17.95 euros, had a couple of beers, lovely bread, salami type sausage and olives. We had ham and tomato bread, so sweet and juicy and the calamari, fresh and tender. Then chicken fillets with roquefort sauce and veal entrocote, we shared, both good, followed by creme xatalan and whiskey tart. 43 euros, def visit again

We had a lovely meal here. The €15.95 menu is much more varied than most of the other restaurants. I had roast veg and chicken in roquefort sauce and my other half had an excellent fish soup and swordfish. Much more choice than in the restaurants on the main streets. Thanks! !
