The service was friendly, attentive, and quick. Our food arrived promptly and hot, and it was flavorful and reasonably priced. However, I’m giving the atmosphere a 4 because it was somewhat noisy, making it difficult to hold a conversation with our friends. To be fair, the place was quite crowded—a good indicator for any restaurant—and there were a few families with small children, so it’s understandable why the noise level was higher. Despite that, the food was exceptional, and we would definitely return to El Cholo.
I visited California for the first time on a business trip and only had two days to explore. I accidentally discovered El Cholo's, and I'm so glad I did! It truly felt like the quintessential Californian experience: a sunny patio adorned with exotic flowers, delicious authentic Mexican cuisine, and the best margarita I've ever tasted. The atmosphere deserves a perfect 10/10. To top it off, they treat you to complimentary pralines at the end of your meal. I can't wait to return someday!
We decided to stop for a light lunch and were pleasantly surprised by how much we enjoyed the food. The appetizer we ordered offered a little taste of everything, giving us a good sense of the various dishes. The chimichanga was the highlight—crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. I would certainly recommend this place for breakfast or dinner. Great cheese options too!

Angel provided outstanding service and took my order perfectly. I really appreciated him and missed his father, Manny, who has always been my favorite waiter. This restaurant is a wonderful spot for Mexican cuisine, and they have a fantastic hidden spicy sauce—make sure to ask for the secret sauce!
After California's withdrawal some things are clear: we missed El Cholos Mexican food most when we remembered our favorite Mexican food food. Great food and this location has outdoor seats like yours in the relaxing terrace of your friend with padded benches and bright pillows. Very recommended.
Excellent Mexican cuisine. The restaurant was clean and welcoming. Very busy weekend. Tables are available inside and outside. Parking is located behind the restaurant. I recit The Flan.
I've been visiting this restaurant for years to celebrate special birthdays for my coworkers. The food and service are consistently excellent. Their margaritas are truly the best!

Asked locally where they would eat a Mexican meal El Chopo kept popping up. Was not disappointed.
