This bakery has been a beloved part of my life since childhood—it's the bread I grew up on. I've been visiting for as long as I can remember, especially on Sunday mornings when there's always a line for their tamales. My dad would take us along, grab his La Opinion, pick up our favorite treats, and then sit down to read the newspaper and the comics to us as kids. I returned today, and while the place has changed a bit over the years, the heart of it remains—the bread is just as fantastic as ever. I picked up some conchas to share with a special someone, and they were a hit. I even treated myself to a few and a cuernito. I also tried their tortas, which were good, but nothing compares to that...
The bread is decent and the coffee is average, but I really appreciate the staff's customer service – they’re always friendly and in a good mood. The tamale vendor, on the other hand, can be hit or miss; you'll order one thing and end up with something completely different, which is pretty funny! However, the tamales themselves are quite greasy and lacking in flavor, and they are a bit pricey. I only go on Sunday mornings when the tamale guy is around.
The selection of pastries is limited, but they offer a little bit of everything: breakfast and lunch sandwiches, drinks, tamales, coffee, and other South American hot beverages. The prices are very affordable, and I'm not sure how they manage to keep them so low!
Tortas de frijoles (beans) are delicious. The sweet bread is also delicious everything I've tried is delicious so far on the menu. I don't expect anything else to taste anything less but delicious.

Pollito place is and has been so far the best place to go grab homemade food when you don't know how to cook or you cannot cook at home for reasons you shouldn't know lol
What can I say. I'm a foodie and every time I work around this city. I get the bolillo with cheese and friend chilies. You have to give them a try.
There is a reason why I have been coming here since I was 8 now 46 and still here.... They also sell Mexican Tortas it sells.....
Love this place, the people are friendly, hard working and humble. They always greet and make you feel welcome.
