I went with my son Daughter to El Sombrero after not going for at least 10 years.. we use to go all the time but I noticed it was not kept up so I stopped going plus the previous owner never acknowledged us and we were regulars for many many years. My son was back in town for a bit and he wanted to go there. I was very skeptical because of past experiences with the old owner.. I had no idea it was under new ownership for like 6 years now. Boy the restraunt was spotless from the restrooms to the restraunt. Remodeled beautifully.The new owner used to be a employee who worked for El Sombrero for 17 years and then bought the place! Wow. Really yummy spot. Great friendly service. Very clean, you can tell they really take pride in their restaurant, such cute decor. My friend picked this spot for lunch and it was great. I had the molcajete fajitas, so delicious!! And even the next day, they tasted amazing. My friend is vegetarian, and what I notice from other spots, this place offered Spinach enchiladas burritos, instead of just cheese. She really liked them. So that was cool. For you mezcal drinkers, they have it here. I know that is currently not being served everywhere, but this spot has it. I really want to come back and try more dishes. Highly recommend this spot.
I was there for my birthday celebration and I was truly impressed. The service was phenomenal, the entire staff is super friendly and ready to help. Victor was our server and he was attentive, professional and very amiable. The food was flavorful and delicious. I’ll be returning and letting my friends know about this place. Wow, everything from the chips to the final drink was incredible! I highly recommend this restaurant; the food is consistently excellent every time we visit. We even travel 25 minutes just to dine here, so be sure to try their pozole verde and micheladas!
