We keep coming back to try other dishes and it is settling in as an Excellent restaurant. Love the 1/2 lb beef fajitas and the Carne guisada taco. Wife loves the Barbacoba taco and Menudo. Definitely worth the price as the cooking effort shows. Amazing handmade flour tortillas.Ok, have had 2 experiences here. Last time we did take-out and the review is below. Today we dined in and it was much better but still very pricey, but they do have daily specials before 3 pm which is the way to go! Today we had the daily special beef fajitas and they were awesome! Also tried a Carne Guisada taco and it was very good, trying the plate next time. Frozen Margarita with Casa Amigos floater was very good....
Simply the best TexMex restaurant I've ever visited (these rings apply to all El Tiempos). The food is absolutely delicious, and the portions are very generous. The Steak-Fajitas are the best I had everywhere. The meat is delicate, the vegetables are tasteful, and the salsa is a perfect combination of spicy and tart. My favourite item in the menu is however the freshly made tortillas. The only drawback is that I can only visit once a month when I am in town for work. If you are looking for Mexican cuisine, El Tiempo will certainly meet the point!
El Tiempo Our family went to El Tiempo on Cinco De Mayo. Wow! The place was packed for the lunch crowd. However, we were seated very quickly amongst the crowded and loud restaurant. There was a very large party right next to us, so we almost had to shout to carry on our own conversation. The servers were quite busy giving fairly prompt service given the circumstances. The food, however, made up for the annoying noise. All dishes were excellent and very large portions. Definitely worth a trip back here on a less-popular day.
Our family visited El Tiempo on Cinco De Mayo. The restaurant was busy with the lunch crowd but we were seated quickly despite the noise. We were seated next to a large party, making it difficult to have a conversation without raising our voices. The servers were busy but provided prompt service. The food was delicious with generous portions, making up for the noisy atmosphere. We would definitely consider returning on a quieter day.

We’ll if you want Tex mex this is the place. We stuffed ourselves on the fajita special and the service was awesome. Also greatly enjoyed the deep fried ice cream (was legit) and the tres leches cake. Very delicious. Never though sipping meat in butter would taste so good. Guillermo took excellent care of us, kept the drinks full and was very patient as we had a hard time deciding what to eat.
Another trip to El T. Overpriced mexican, albeit tasty, and the absolute worst valet ever created. I'm going to purposely come park my car with valet just so I can enjoy your sour faces when I don't tip you for driving my car 5'. Can't wait for the valet to roll out the tipping iPads.
Happy Cinco de Mayo! The Mixed Fajitas for two at this restaurant can easily feed 4 people with leftovers to spare, ensuring the party continues throughout the weekend. Arriving before 4:20 is key to beating the happy hour rush. Food quality receives a perfect score of 5/5.
One of our favorite restaurants in Houston. The margaritas are some of the best in the area and the queen is also excellent. Fajitas are solid and the servers were friendly. In any case, others would recommend trying El Tiempo.
