Word on the street is that this restaurant serves some of the best Mexican food in the state, and the menu certainly reflects that with weekend specialties like barbacoa de chivo, pozole, and menudo. I tried the barbacoa de res, which was rich and featured tender beef that had been cooked for hours in a family recipe broth. The tortillas are sourced from a local Minneapolis tortilleria and are quite good. The rice and beans are packed with flavor, showcasing the effort and passion that goes into the cooking. The salsa is quite spicy, so proceed with caution! Overall, it's authentic Mexican cuisine with great service, and they even serve Jarrito's soda.

I absolutely love El Triunfo! Everything I've tried there over the past five years has been wonderful, especially the tacos, tostadas, burritos, and the large meat platter that serves two. The service is friendly, if a little laid-back, and everything is prepared fresh to order. The green sauce is particularly delicious. I felt compelled to write this review because I've seen a couple of trolls leaving absurd and obviously fake negative reviews. Ignore those and take my word for it—better yet, come in and give them a try. You won't be disappointed!

I love el triunfo. everything I had in the last 5 years here was great (mostly tacos, tostadas, burritos and the large meat plate that serves two. They have a good service when a tad informal, and everything is freshly cooked to order. the green sauce is particularly good. I was moved to write a critique, because a few trolls have actually been ridiculously written and obviously fake crooks smile. They ignore them and listen to me, they better come in and try it. They are top notch.

el triunfo has tasty, fresh ingredients served each of the dozens of paints we have eaten there. in a contemporary, polite and on a clean table! the personal is super nice. the teddy review sounds like something from the twilight zone.
