El Vaquero - Reserva de mesa

Went for a Father's Day lunch. Food was priced about average. I ordered the Popeye(spinach) Quesadilla and my father ordered a Shrimp Quesadilla. Food arrived so quickly it was almost concerning. Not sure it was made to order. The rice with my dish was very old and dry. Seemed left over from the previous day...... maybe. For some reason the Popeye Quesadilla was about a third the size of the Shrimp Quesadilla. Waiter seemed very confused when I ordered it and asked me several times what type of meat I wanted on it even though it is a vegetarian dish. I am quite particular when it comes to Mexican food, but I must say that I was very impressed with this restaurant. Upon sitting down, we were promptly served chips and salsa, which were delicious. Our orders arrived quickly, and we were all pleased with our meals. My husband ordered the Quesadilla Indiana, which was huge and incredibly tasty. He couldn't get enough of it. Even my 5-year-old daughter, who usually eats very little, enjoyed her soft taco with generous portions of meat, refried beans, and rice. My chicken chimichanga was also delicious. Overall, our dining experience was fantastic, and we will definitely return if we are in the area again.

The food at this restaurant is excellent. Lately, I have been feeling a bit down from all the death and destruction happening in our society. With over half a million people dead from Covid alone, it brings me comfort to enjoy some good beans and tortillas. My wife particularly enjoys their taco salad, but to me, it feels too extravagant given the current state of pain and suffering. I prefer to stick with enchiladas.

The restaurant staff were very friendly and accommodating. The Steak Fajitas I ordered were delicious and made without onions as I requested. The lunch specials were excellent, and the drink that came with it was very large, so we decided to take it to go since we were traveling. Overall, everything was excellent and top notch quality.
