This place is fun to go to once or maybe twice, and interesting to sit up at the chef’s table at the back to see right into the open-plan kitchen. How it has a Michelin star is a mystery, though. The food is perfectly good, nicely presented, and tasty, but has nothing of the joie de vivre that should accompany it to transport the taster up to the level of eye-rolling, finger-kissing bliss. They have a good, extensive wine list, though for those used to drinking in France it seems ruinously expensive. The cheaper wines are adequate rather than exciting. The service is courteous and efficient. The atmosphere is comfortable, although the ambience is lacking in that we took away with us the feel...
