This restaurant was previously known as Bernies and it was outstanding. The new owners have certainly maintained that high standard. The drink selection is impressive, featuring everything from excellent wines to amazing cocktails. However, the food is truly exceptional. Whether you're in the mood for a delicious main dish or fantastic tapas, this is the spot to visit. I tried the barra tacos, and they were incredible. I returned the next evening for the pork belly with scallops, and once again, it was superb. I noticed several other diners with main courses, and their portions were generous. What an amazing little place Elixir is! Everytime I've gone there, it's been cozy yet elegant and always great music playing and loads of live talent on stage. It's a hidden gem in a city sprinkled with a lot of so-so venues. Looking forward to trying out more food and cocktails. The owners Sky Bill are such beautiful people who really love what they do and it shows in their interactions with their guests. Love it! Keep doing your thing guys :
Whether you're visiting or local Bernie's is the place to enjoy good music, food and drink in a friendly relaxed atmosphere. Friday and Saturday you'll be entertained by some great exponents of jazz and swing and Saturday some great blues music fills the air. Bernie and Annie are the wonderful hosts. Drop in for some music, a drink and a bite to eat. You won't be disappointed. I loved it.

Last night was fantastic at Elixir Tapas Bar, Blues explosion with a few extra guests, great to see Bill the new owner out mixing with the crowd and having a dance In my words it absolutely 'went off ' last night, it just gets bigger and better every Sunday..I forgot to mention the regular guests, who are also excellent entertainers, Jim Davies, Vance from the Barbary Coasters.
What an absolute gem to find!!! We were lucky enough to come across Elixir on Sunday night and were able to experience some great music and the most friendly atmosphere, cam't wait to head back there next time we are in Cairns!!!
Muso friendly venue. Good music at the Sunday blues session. Musicians able to jam with the band on invitation. Great Coopers tap beer, ice cold beer. Good crowd at the jam, friendly people.
Elixir is undeniably the top live music venue in Cairns. It champions original music, has incredible staff, a fantastic crowd, and a vibrant atmosphere... Absolutely, yes!

Had the best night celebrating a friend's 50th birthday... A wonderful place with warm friendly staff, great food and a fantastic vibe.
