overall we had an ok experience in this restaurant, bu there is a lot of space to improve. we came to ellenika with family on a Sunday after we checked the menu online, it seemed that the menu was completely different from the online menu, as the online menu was not updated. the prices are expensive and the portion size is small for some food. for example is spanakopita, that is the cheese filled triangular pastries for about as well we had to pay for water and additionally there is an up-priced billing! some meats on the meat plate were quite dry. salat dips and the Greek meatballs (small) were well done. platz had good prospects and beautiful Greek live music, but overall a lot of space is...
few ask for detail. first, eating was satisfactory, but wait a long wait wait wait wait wait wait wait wait a long waiter apologetic) and wow, food extremely overpriced to the point of distraction. they expect to pay at least $10 $15 more than anywhere else for certain teller, and to these praises they would expect that eating is exceptional, but it was not. glass wein $18. By far the worst greek restaurant I have ever visited. The food was very bland, under seasoned, ridiculously over priced and oily. It shocks me that a restaurant in such a prime location can be so bad. We were constantly harassed by bored waitresses pacing back and forth past our table. When we were offered water I assumed it would just be tap water, but no, $9 later and we were none the wiser. The staff here are very strange and made the experience very uncomfortable and awkward at times, the manager was a very weird dude. Just arrived off a plane from Melbourne tired and looking for a decent meal for my family and I so we unfortunately decided to give this place a try as we have been to many Greek taverns across Melbourne. When we walked in we were offered still or sparkling water when we replied still we assumed it was tap water only to find out we’d been charged 8.90 for a 750ml bottle of water when we got the bill. The waiter seemed nice enough so we asked him to recommend a kids size meal my 5 y/o son would like and he recommended one which we went on to order only to find out it was 28 for a kids meal??? 2 years ago, when this place was sensational in adelaide! so much that we often get the order to our waiter who never left us down. the dinge have changed since the service was so bad, we went out before we even order food. our waitress had no idea about everything, and apparently everything we had ordered had expired. could not help, but the feeling that we were pushed into the ordering expensive drinks! oh, and there is no child menu. so disappointing
I came to Ellenika with low expectations, because word of mouth has been far from flattering. My friends and I were greeted warmly upon entry and escorted to a table. Service after this was quite slow, albeit friendly. I like their interior and the location is naturally excellent, but ambience ruined by loud, static music.
