Ellenika Traditional Greek Taverna

We chose to eat here because the restaurant was listed in the Entertainment Book and it was close to home. With 3 kids - paying for expensive menus when you are unsure they will eat it is not a great proposition! However, my daughter chose Greek for her family birthday treat. We also had a Japanese student staying with us. Whilst not within the control of the restaurant, it was a shame that we couldn't sit outside on a beautiful summer night to enjoy the view - I am sure it would be spectacular in summer. Its not nice to write a negative review, however we have just finished dining at the Ellenika and after lovely food and good service throughout our evening it all came to a crashing holt. "So if you are a group and dining together, then this may not be the place for you. If you are like us and use plastic, like 90% of the population do, then again this may not be for you, and if you can't read the Greek language, then this may not be the place for you."The evening went well. This restaurant has great views of the marina, friendly staff and scrumptious food. Fresh lemons are provided and the surrounds leave you in no doubt that this is a greek restaurant. The halloumi was perfectly cooked but just a tad cold, my partner had the octopus which he said was really tasty. The lamb skewers were tender and had a great selection of mediterranean veggies which were yummy. My partner had the prawn saganaki, which had a good selection of prawns and he said the cheesecake was delicious. Would definitely go back, the waitress was friendly and there was no long wait for our food or drinks.

Sadly the second time in a row our food wasn't up to scratch. We both ordered a special - I ordered the chicken breast at $39 they forgot the skordalia - it was like a quick oops from management and I still didn't get it the dish really needed the skordalia so it wasn't so plain. At $39 I expect a little more. My husband ordered the lamb special - it was basically a deconstructed yiros for $36. The wine list is very deceiving we ordered a Fiano which I expect to be at least 2016 - it was a 2015 and so didn't do the Beach Rd wine - (which we drink often) any justice can't see us returning soon. we went with friends for a sunday night dinner and enjoyed the evening very much.We started with a dips to have with a predinner drink and then went on the have 4 different mains all very nice. Between us we had chicken slouvaki, pork slouvaki, lamb slouvaki and a vegetarian dish of stuffed eggplant. All were tasty and well presented with some nice roasted vegies. BYO is okay.

Went there for my Daughters 20 birthday and had a table at the front next to a 2 piece band a Bouzoki player and organist .Ordered the meze and mains and listened to live music amazing atmosphere around the place with waiters very helpful and the food was plenty full.Would recommend the restaurant will be back for the third time and try the desserts a must .

Friendly fast service on arrival (NON booked table) I ordered Calamari (very good in light pastry and correctly cooked not chewy Then Moussaka a new favorite of mine since a holiday in athens and found it as good as the one I had in Plaka.Good overview of harbour and boats and up market seating and decor A Good wine list is available

Large venue great for our group of friends. Live music as it was a Friday night, the service was attentive and helpful. As we were a large group we ordered shared entres and platters, the platters were generous and we took the opportunity to take home the uneaten portions. Reserva una mesa ahora

A great standby for an enjoyable meal out. We always enjoy a warm welcome and service is good and friendly. Food is very good and in particular we keep coming back for the salt and pepper squid. Souvlaki serves are generous and tasty.
