I’m so glad we decided to step out of our regular haunts. We use to hang out at Lane Cove heaps and haven’t been back in awhile but how it’s been changed since.<br/ <br/ We decided on 3 tapas and a mains with some bread rolls to mop up the formers. Ordered a set of the kids menu to supplement the above- comes with a juice and an ice cream dessert.<br/ <br/ Tapas:<br/ Grilled Octopus, mushroom with garlic oil croquettes. Best part of having come bread rolls? Mopping up the sauce from the first 2 tapas. Kids wanted in on the tapas more than their meal set.<br/ <br/ Kids:<br/ Meatballs with Bravas; kids love the potatoes and the adult took advantage sneaking in by mopping the gravy with our bre...

Finally got a chance to visit this restaurant. It was a pleasant place to eat on a special night out as it is expensive for casual dining. We ordered the prawn croquettes, garlic prawns, beef tenderloin, and finally the prawn and calamari wet rice. Croquettes were so good ! Garlic prawns were also a crowd favourite with some good crusty bread. Tenderloin was average and disappointing would not recommend. The wet rice arrived served in it's pot. Super hearty and flavourful main, though it becomes one dimensional after a while. Still enjoyable ! Overall, I think for a weekday night, service was a bit slow, however they were friendly and professional. It was also quite noisy/bustling in the spa...

Encasa Restaurant has been around for 20 years serving traditional Spanish food and my very first memory of dining at Encasa was with Matt after finishing a class at University. It was my first time tasting Spanish food and I completely fell in love with it. I'd highly recommend their tabla mixta (antipasti board). You can order different boards with meats such as Jamon Iberico (17 month cured Spanish ham), Salchichon (dry cured white pig sausage) or Jamon Bellota (24 month cured black pig Spanish ham). If you're not sure, you can get a mixture of Salchichon, Jamon Iberico and Manchego (featured above). It's a great way to kick off an eventful night.

To be honest, I got to the restaurant late my friends had already ordered for the table. I’m not exactly sure of everything that we ate, but everything that we had were delicious. Can’t say I ever had razor clams from a tin before, or initially that excited being served something from a tin, but it was interesting not fishy. The scallop in saffron cream the lamb skewers were my favourites. My friends couldn’t get enough of the Bacadillos, I found it lacking in a sauce or not enough of. Overall a lovely lunch. Sharing smaller plates is something we really enjoy and often do this with many cuisines but with tapas, it is simply perfect. With Tapas you can get to sample and savour many scrumptious dishes. It’s a bit like having Mediterranean yum cha for dinner. We were initially going to order six dishes but our waiter said that the four or five would be enough. Allowing for Sir’s appetite we went for five dishes which we just managed to finish. This advice was really appreciated.

First time at Encasa Lane Cove although I’ve been to their other branch and deli. We visited on a Wednesday night and when we arrive it was almost full. Service is friendly and efficient. The jamon here is as good as the ones we had in Spain and they tell us it’s because everything is imported from Spain- no wonder! We particularly enjoyed the garlic prawns and slow cooked beef cheek, very indulgent. Very enjoyable night and would definitely visit again soon.

Came as a guest! Plenty to like here. The Paella Valenciana which is Saffron rice with chicken and seafood is really big portion and they are not stingy with the seafood and the prawns are quite big! Definitely worth trying! The other dishes which include lamb skewers, scallops, sizzling prawns are all worth trying also. Lane Cove you are lucky to have this restaurant there!

We have fond memories of the original Encasa in the city as one of the first Spanish restaurants we tried in Sydney, which kicked off our love affair with the cuisine. Fortunately for us, Encasa has expanded to the lower north shore with an eatery on the main strip in Lane Cove, decked out in rustic chic decor. Reserva una mesa ahora

One of our favourite local spots. Non pretentious food, with good portions and the best sangria.. garlic prawns with a bread roll and the paella are must haves. Ask for a side of chilli to go with it!
