Erni's Place Restaurant & Pizza

If you enjoy being shouted at by either the owner or her mother, then this is the place for you to have breakfast or any other meal. We had breakfast here for the sixth time in the past year. The peameal bacon was overcooked and inedible. When we complained to our server, she relayed our complaint to a woman (possibly the mother or owner) who came back and yelled at us, saying the food is what it is, and then walked away. This woman's temper has been getting shorter and shorter, but today she exploded like a bomb, yelling at customers who didn't like their food to leave. During our visit to town, we decided to have lunch at Erni's once again. It was evident that this restaurant is a local favorite, as many tables were occupied and everyone seemed to be familiar with each other. I ordered the full bacon sub sandwich, while my husband tried the Fish Sandwich special which came with a bowl of beef soup and a breaded fish fillet on a hamburger bun. My husband found his meal to be average in taste, with the soup being too salty and having a bouillon flavor. The sandwich, on the other hand, was enjoyable although it could have used more bacon. Regrettably for the residents of Arthur, there are limited options for a sit-down meal, with Erni's being one of them. The strong smell of fried food lingers in the air at this rather outdated establishment. The waitress we had was quite careless, dressed in worn-out camo sweatpants, which I found unacceptable. The napkins provided were thin and flimsy, resembling one-ply toilet paper. The menu, however, offers a decent selection including omelettes, burgers, sandwiches, and more. I once tried the souvlaki, which was extremely dry and nearly inedible. With proper server training, a dress code, and improved food quality, this restaurant could greatly enhance its dining experience.

While cutting across central Ontario, we decided to stop at Ernis for lunch. We were quite impressed with the selections on the menu. Many of the clients were regulars who got personal greetings from the waitresses. Our meal was brought to the table in fast...order. It was lasagna and a big sandwich. We split the meals between us. Quite impressed. We will return to Ernis the next time we are in downtown Arthur, Ontario.

Was my first time here since the new owners took over. Staff were friendly and helpful. The restaurant looked clean. Menu was larger. Not open as early as the other owners were though. Prices went up but that often happens with a new owner. And...no more pizza slices at lunch...you have to buy a whole pizza now. Just not the same.

We stopped in during a motorcycle ride for a bite. The food was pretty good. The service was ok as well. Nothing special but adequate. The small pizza was tasty and well made and certainly filling enough for a single person.

with friends to have pizza and decided on the butter huhn special. it was delicious! came with salad, broth, rice and a drink. our waitress was very friendly!

Ernie's is a place I've been to many times over the years and found I've rarely been disappointed.
