Seriously, don't bother. What an absolute shambles and ignorant with it. The restaurant opens at 7.30pm and we booked at table at 8pm, for 4 people, including our 2 year old child. We had a lovely welcome from the host and were led to our table, following which everything went down hill. It took 30 minutes before we were given a menu to view, I seriously think that the menus are restricted in number, as they seem to be passed from table to table once a table had managed to order. Despite asking if we could order our food, it was a whole hour, 9pm before our food order was taken. There were an army of staff, many of whom were walking around, talking on headsets, but doing very little else. Fortunately our 2 year old was immaculately behaved, for a change, although we did have to revert to screen time to get through that hour, which was leading up to her bedtime. On the plus side, the food arrived 15 minutes after being ordered, but it was distinctly average, if not diabolical. Tagliatelle turned out to be spaghetti, Uruguan BBQ strip, turned out to be nothing to do with BBQ at all, just tasteless meat and the Uruguan rump was announced as Uruguan meat which gives a clue as to what was to be expected. Tough, bony and not tasty at all. Honestly, don't bother. There are much, much nicer places for food in and around Son Bou.
We were lured by the promise of dinner in the garden at this restaurant. We booked a table for 8 pm when it was quiet and were disappointed to be positioned near the service bar area and thoroughfare for staff. Despite the warm welcome and swift polite service I noticed our table cloth was not clean when we arrived and sadly for some reason there were loads of flies all over the place. A lovely waitress went to great lengths to explain the specials and show us the cuts of meats available but sadly as they were bombarded by flies it put us off. We were given an amuse bouche of hummus which was appreciated but no spoon and only one piece of tortilla so the proportions were out of balance. We had caprese salad and guacamole with prawns to start. Not many prawns for the price of the dish despite it being tasty and pricey!!. These had been sliced so I reckon there were 3 max in the whole dish. Mains were good. We decided to stick at two courses as we were too harassed by flies. Good choice of wines available. Our bill was hefty for what we had 111euros for 2 and we have eaten at what we consider some of the best restaurants on the island for equivalent.
If you’re reading this, I’ve probably already died and been cremated. Seriously… the service is HORRENDOUS. If you like to be ignored for over an hour before you even take a food order then this is the place for you. Never felt so invisible in my life and I’ve got a **** tan! The waiting staff deliberately look anywhere other than your eyes as they are clearly embarrassed by how long it takes. Be careful not to spill a drink on your menu as they only have about 6 to go round the whole restaurant. We know this as when our order was finally took the soggy piece of paper my toddler spilt apple juice on was then handed to the next disgruntled table of customers. Had the food of been delicious I wouldn’t have wrote this review but it was distinctly average. From my grave… never again.
