In would say the four star rating at the time of this review is about right, perhaps a 3.7 or so to be more precise... I've had a bit better, but I've certainly had far worse. I went for the Filet with Haggis and a Whiskey Cream Sauce... I don't know what it is about me, but anything paired with haggis is a must try! I must admit it actually worked well. The steak was probably cooked a bit more than I expected for medium rare, but it was quite nice in the middle and to be honest is closer to how I tend to like it... it just seems in the UK medium rare usually equates to what I would consider medium... I'm not sure if this is a US thing or a southern thing, but over the years it seems a prett...

I 'm in Edinburgh.UK for a little under 2 weeks for work. I 've been here before, and I know that Scottish food is pretty bland, so I came here with pretty low expectations. However, for a restaurant in the UK, I would say that this is a pretty decent restaurant. For starters, I had some smoked salmon wrapped in cream cheese and a minestrone soup. The smoked salmon was pretty good, it came in 3 pieces. There was a bit too much cream cheese for each piece, so I only had one and shared the rest with my co workers. The minestrone soup was very good and refreshing, considering the weather is currently in the 50 's 60 's and I came from Houston 80 's 90 's degree weather. For the main entree, I h...

There were only three servers, but they were friendly and attentive (though you might have to wave to get their attention). I started with the calamari fritti, and it was excellent: lightly battered, crispy, and not greasy at all. For my main dish, I had the pollo milanese, which was also wonderfully prepared. The chicken fillet was juicy, with just the right amount of breadcrumb coating, and the mini roasted potatoes were perfectly crispy. No sauce, no cheese—just simple and delicious! A light dessert of Italian coconut ice cream served in a coconut shell rounded off the meal perfectly. I’m definitely a fan of Fabio—the restaurant!

Fabios has fantastic food which is freshly cooked and very tasty. The prices are good, probably what you would expect from an italian outside the city centre. The staff are friendly and always happy to help, they make you feel very welcome. There is a great range of non-italian food for those who want it and although there is not a childrens menu they will make a half portion of pasta or a small 8 pizza for children. Food at the weekends takes a while to arrive at your table, so get a starter to keep you going. All in all a great place to eat, nice friendly atmosphere, lovely home made type food, good prices, highly recommended. Reserva una mesa ahora

One of the most intriguing spots for Italian cuisine in the city—at least in my opinion—is located just near the western outskirts, behind PC World and the Shell station. It offers a charming ambiance and delightful food. The prices are quite reasonable, surprisingly so; you’d pay at least £2 more for the same dishes in the city center. The drinks are decent, and the service is friendly and courteous. The only downside is that it's a bit far from the city center. However, if you’re a food enthusiast and enjoy spending an evening in a lovely, romantic setting, it's worth the trip on the bus. You won’t regret it!

I make an order for collection from Fabio's every Saturday night that I'm not going out, and it's always the highlight of my Saturday night in. I'd do anything for my two favourites right now, Penne Calabrese and Pizza Fabio! If you go you must try both of them. Definitely recommend this place to anyone, some of the best Italian food I've had in Edinburgh.

The food was great and the prices were reasonable. I tried the carbonara, which was fantastic, and my husband loved his ravioli. The tables could be spaced out a bit more, but that's my only complaint. If you're looking for excellent Italian cuisine just outside of Edinburgh, this is definitely a good choice.

Looking for a quick dinner. Spent the day walking around Edinburgh. Food and service were decent. They accommodated my wife's dietary restrictions. Food was a bit greasy, but hot and tasty. Reserva una mesa ahora
