I have been a long time customer but have to say how disappointed I have been lately. Portions are small, waitstaff are extremely rude and their attire is not very pleasing. I was there the other night and one of the waitresses was wearing a halter top with cut off jean shorts and boots. Her hair was disheveled and she looked like she hadn 't bathed in quite a while. I was turned off by her appearance and the fact that she was touching people 's food. I opted out of eating and went into the bar to have a drink instead. The bartender was a refreshing change, bright personality and pleasant and her hygiene was clean. Time to clean house literally of the grubby, sloppy waitstaff.
My experience at this restaurant was my last. We waited nearly 10 minutes to be seated, and it wasn’t even that crowded. I found the menu to be quite limited. I ordered the Chow Mein Casserole, which arrived in a small elongated dish filled with stale noodles and a burnt top. It came with a pound of fries and mediocre coleslaw. When our food was placed in front of us, we realized there were no utensils on the table. To make matters worse, the people who were seated after us were served much faster and were already enjoying their dessert by the time we received our entrees! I was very disappointed; it just wasn’t worth our time.
I am writing to air my complaints about the very poor and rude service that my family received at Family Ties in Tiverton, RI on January 7th. Having waitressed all my life, I know very well the dos and don�ts of the restaurant business. I do my best to care of our guests, and ensure that they have a pleasurable dining experience.
This restaurant should be shut down by the health authorities. I witnessed the waitstaff eating food off the plates before serving them to customers. Additionally, the kitchen staff was outside, and as we walked to our car, all we could smell was marijuana. This is unacceptable.

This place is great! I have never had an issue with service. The food is delicious abd reasonalbly prices. Everyone ii bring there loves it! Breakfast lunch dinner or a seat at the bar... always a good time.
Love the food!!!!!!! Best homecooked meals!!! The staff is very pleasant. Finally a reasonable restaurant in Tiverton with awesome food and great prices! Love the Portuguese chili!!! Keep up the good work!!
We were disappointed during our visit. The food was cold, and our dishes were served at different times. We even had to wait to send the main course back. I won’t be returning.
I love eating with family ties. Granted, the service may not be so great sometimes, but I always find that my servers are large and usually friendly.

Family Ties is great! They are now located just a minute up the road at 221 Main st. It is still owned and operated by Dave Ferreira.
