Fehres Bruckenkeller

Friends and I visited the place today; it was crowded and it didn 't seem possible to seat inside. Still, we decided to use the toilette. When we opened the door leading to the outside area where the toilette was, a blond middle-aged woman came shouting after us saying that we could not use it unless we buy a drink?? We wanted to pay a fee to use the toilette, but the incredibly rude woman shouted Aus! (i.e. Out! I was so shocked that I couldn 't answer a word (which I deeply regret . It 's a shame that rude staff could spoil our overall impression from Bernkastel-Kues. So be warned what sort of service you are to expect in the Bruckenkeller...

We were here many times over the years, we are always sitting outside, even though its cold, as they heating the terrace for you. Knew there was an inner part we expected to be quite small. On our freezing cold last night, we decided to go in. Wow, what a great place. I can't believe we never knew about it. The owners are rightly very proud of the place. We also bought 6 bottles of wine for around 30 euros. I can't wait to go back.

Old caves cut into the side of the river, now used as bar/restaurant. Also acts as a shop where you can buy the excellent wines from the Fehres winery. Directly on the bridge over the Moselle so easy to find and spend some time enjoying the wine and the location.

Visits with woman for wine tasting. Location is easy on foot over Mosel von Bernkastel. We sat outside and tasted a selection of 7 wines, including the doctor. Service was good and prices ok. Recommend to visit this place when you visit Bernkastel.

Nice place on the river. Stop here for a glass of local wine and they have a good variety. The staff is friendly and service-prompt.
