When Europeans want to relive the life of a cowboy in the “old west”, they go to a chuck wagon BBQ dinner in the USA. When visitors want to relive the life of the Alsatian cattle herders who took the cows up into the mountains to graze during the summer months, they travel into the Vosges to eat a repas marcaire, a traditional farm-style dinner. The Deybach family at the Ferme Auberge du Treh serves an excellent repas marcaire at a reasonable price, and the views from their restaurant are outstanding (lots of paragliders launching from the mountain’s crest above).
