When we came in, we noticed that we were the only black people. Nobody let us sit, but we took a seat. Everyone there seemed to be regular. Everyone knew each other. Everyone was sitting. The bartenders talked to their regulars. We were finally welcomed. We were offered by their buffet consisting of zucchini sticks and French fries, but we didn't want any. The bartender had cookies from Lulu 's, which they shared with their regular guests, but none offered us. Not a big deal, but could have offered and let us say, no, then all around us offer except us. The food was nice and fresh. We have the beerbatter onion rings and pommes and 20 pieces of wings. This is a solid neighborhood bar that does everything well. The food here is surprisingly excellent. They really take pride in the restaurant portion of their business. They also have a very family/kid friendly outdoor area and the friendliest waitresses. I feel lucky to live near this place. Great for a relaxing dinner with my wife and kids, or great for a beer with my friends to catch a game. The nachos are amazing by the way.
Amazing spot!!Loved the Charlie’s steak sandwich. My wife had the Fillmore burger with blue cheese.Both were out of this world delicious.The steak sandwich had so much flavor!!!They also had great portions.Had a margarita and a Moscow mule both super good. And large!Service was very attentive and casual.Best part of all it’s hidden away like a gem in A residential neighborhood of all places.
Great food large service pot roasts special was super delicate and perfect portions. It was pressed in time and our server made sure we were moved along. Prices also very reasonable and so close to St. Johns University and Queens CollegeGreat to see an old school taverne still flourish

Food is excellent service was great came in and it was cold asked where I could sit and be a little warmer and they immediately turn off the ac I did not asked but it was excellent service the food was very fresh and delicious and drinks were strong
Had the 13 oz black steak and the baked shells. The steak was perfectly cooked and was included a fair price with the sides. To drink, we had two Irish mules that were excellent. The bar itself is quite small and intimate, would definitely go back.
Eating is good. Nice turbulent tavern to eat. Everything is expensive in Nyc, so lunch special was a pleasant surprise for $13.95. Ordnete Auberginenparm, but got chicken franchise, so hungry I don't care. It was okay.
I consider myself a burger connoisseur. That being said, this place has arguably the best burgers in Queens, NY. Better than Donovan's, God bless that...
