We had a quick lunch with our friends before touring the Roosevelt Cottage and attending the 4 pm Tea with Eleanor. Both guys had the fish and chips (fried haddock and crisp fries) while us ladies opted for the vegetarian special (hummus and grilled veggie wrap). My side was a delicious broccoli cauliflower bisque and my friend had the ceasar salad (and picked off the unexpected bacon!) The service from Tina was polite and friendly, and it was pleasant sitting in front of one of the big windows looking out over the water. The only downside was paying for the bill and then realizing that we had forgotten to lay down our 10% off coupon. When we showed it, we were told they couldn't re-run the b...

There are very few eating options on Campobello Island. TheFireside looked like the best possibility, but it was disappointing. The cafeteria style in itself might be ok, but the food quality was not great. The lobster in the lobster roll was tasteless and mushy, while the roll was some sort of sweet tasting bread. Plus, it was made in advance and served to us wrapped in plastic. Why couldn't it have been made to order, even on a cafeteria line? It only takes one minute to scoop some lobster salad into a bun - which should be a hot dog bun, not a sweet roll. It was all a bit dispiriting, and at nearly 80 Canadian dollars, way over priced. The french fries, sadly, were the best thing we ate....

Accessible and lovely place. Surprised to find that it has turned into a badly run cafeteria. Set up so line with trays blocks entrance to washrooms. Cold food prepackaged. Hard to find a place to eat on the island so if you have to eat here order hot food but be prepared for prices. Pop is $2.59 a can. Most customers complaining loudly because apparently this used to be a good place to eat with service. Seniors struggling to carry trays. Part of the Roosevelt estate. Would rather have decent prices and pay to get into the park (which is free). Great location but need to limit menu to a few hot reasonably priced dishes.

This restaurant has very recently changed from offering diverse “cook to order” food to a cafeteria style with limited options of precooked entrees. Baked or broiled haddock is not available, only a battered and fried version that gets dried-out and less appetizing from sitting in the warming tray. The romaine lettuce and other salad greens are fresh but unfortunately the quality and variety of the hot food menu offerings are much less than they were. Staff are still very helpful and courteous, the facility is very clean and the view from the deck on a clear warm day is fantastic. Reserva una mesa ahora

The park has instituted a program where you get tea and cookies and staff members explain doe little know aspects of Mrs. Roosevelts life. After that program we went to The Fireside for lunch. My wife had fish and chips which included two pieces of fried fresh haddock, which was very good. I had a lobster roll which was a good value but had an unusual roll(see picture). We could not eat on the outside terrace, which was unfortunate, because it was a beautiful day. The reason was the restaurant was short staffed. The food varied from okay to very good for the fish and chips.

Stopped in for lunch after a nice visit to the Roosevelt International Park. It is conveniently located a stones throw from the park. When we arrived there was a large tour group eating, however, the waitstaff took our order and brought our drinks in short order. We all opted for the 'fish and chips' and were quite pleased with the offering. Although the menu is limited...you can't beat the convenience to the park.

What a let down. Thought that from the outside that this was going to be a really great place... Nope. Buffet style french fries panini and old coffee. Not to mention the almost standoffish reaction for trying to patronize the restaurant. Reserva una mesa ahora

Good food and a charming setting/history. They are moving to a buffet style due to Park decision, so I am not sure how that will affect the food.
