Really happy I listened to my hubby to come and try this place. We made it a point to try all the local seafood joints/shacks in the Point Lookout/Oceanside/Long Beach area. I was a little hesitant at first cause we weren 't sure how the seating would work and it was getting a little chilly. We first went to Point Lookout Clam Bar which is what we wanted to try initially but all the seats were outdoor. The set-up and view was beautiful as you can see in my picture but we preferred to sit indoors. Total non-issue as the host informed us that Fisherman 's Catch is owned by the same person and the menu is exactly the same. (Yay! I came her for Sunday evening dinner to catch up with an old friend before the holiday rush. This was a perfect choice. Valet parking always helps with cold weather in NY. The Valet gentleman reminded me that my car remote needed replacing. It's the little things that count. Overall the staff was friendly and easy to engage. The ambiance is very nice, which allows dining for all seasons. They have an extensive wine menu offering wine bottle specials. Beautiful location. Absolutely the worst food I've ever eaten! We ordered baked clams that were disgusting. Never in my life have I ever tasted baked clams as bad as theses. All bread and tasted like tomato sauce. Not a clam to be found or tasted. The crab cake was so bad and overcooked, overpriced and again did not taste like any crab cake I've ever eaten. I have Philips frozen crab cakes in my freezer that are 110% better that what I was served here. The iced tea was so watered down it might as well just been water. Stopped by after day at Jones Beach. Beautiful clean place, friendly staff. But the food is shameful and outrageously priced. 34.00 for fried combo plate that was overly greasy and no flavor. It was like chewing rubber. w french fries that were cold. When we asked how long the food would take the staff said less than 5 minutes. I should have known then this was a problem. Food is obviously pre made and just heated up..and the 12.00 for baked clams that were obviously frozen and then microwaved had a sheen on top when I put my fork in it was like getting a spoonful of oatmeal. Be aware of your itemized receipt! I ordered 3 food items last week and was shocked when it was $99. This was my first time and I didn't see the menu with prices so I just thought it was overpriced seafood. When I got my itemized receipt, I noticed the items were $15-$20, no way it could total $99! I asked the cashier who looked genuinely surprised. She said she would get a manager. I had to remind her twice. She came back later (no manager spoke to me) saying that I was charged for a $30 bottle of wine (which didn't show up on the itemized receipt). She said they'd reverse the charge but couldn't provide a void receipt. In the end we got $20 back according to the credit card activity. This...

This place looks nice, on the bay and recently upgraded. Do not let that fool you!!! The food was absolutely terrible. 32 for the worst fried combo I've ever had. Everything was small in size yet big on price. By the way.....bring lots of cash ....big sur charge for credit cards. I am surprised we weren't charged just to sit. You took our neighborhood 's only nice seafood restaurant and turned it into an open-plan, fly-laden, uncomfortable plastic bar stool seating, fried fish only at window monstrosity with a congested mess posing as parking options , and rude residents screaming at you when you do try to park. My only question is : why??? Who asked for this?

No longer fisherman catch now called clam bar and it sucked Need to order at a window find an open table put there supplied table locator and they deliver the food. Ate there yesterday on a beautiful November day and while I love location food sitch not great , everything comes out together COLD covid is over hire some wait stuff and do this right , next door can be your original way

Food was great! My wife and I go by boat often given the easy docking. However, you get there, you will always have a great time. Saturday night they had a singer at the bar that was fantastic !
