First and foremost, they serve excellent chips. Thankfully, their chips are consistently good and perfectly cooked. They also surprisingly make fantastic pizza. I've had pizzas from other fish and chip shops that were nothing more than bland tomato sauce topped with a rubbery cheese-like substance, likely derived from cat’s milk, all served on the worst possible biscuit-like crust. That is definitely not the case here. At First Plaice, the pizza has a great sauce, tasty cheese, and generous toppings, all made on a properly thin crust. Since pizza is unlikely to make you immortal, that should be more than enough reason to check it out. Do they need more reasons to draw you in? The staff are...

I might be a bit biased as a mother, but I know good food when I taste it! I really enjoyed their fish and chips, and I also tried the pizza and the metzgerei, both of which were delicious. I would definitely recommend paying them a visit!

This is the best chip shop I’ve visited in a long time in Torquay. The staff is fantastic, and the food is incredibly delicious at a great price for what you get. I highly recommend it. Great job!
