Walked in for lunch, very clean surroundings stepped up to menu. Here you pick your protein; beef, chicken, 1/2 n 1/2, also all white meat chicken small premium. Then your size and base. I choose the all white rice with streamed veggies. The plate size I ordered came with a small cabbage salad and 1/2 an orange. Protein was 7oz. all for about $9.75. Service has changed a bit in that they assemble the plates all up front. The veggies, rices and meats are pre-prepped off and placed in holding containers for the customers order. I liked it, you see the food being assembled and that's a layer of extra trust for me. Last they offer green onions for top garnish if you want. Sauces still were there...
The cashier was incredibly slow. I waited 10 minutes just to place my order and then another 10 minutes to receive my food. That left me with only 10 minutes of my 30-minute break to eat, and I couldn't even finish my meal. Other customers in line were also expressing their frustration about the wait. She really needs to improve her speed. 2/24/19
We needed a Flame Broiler in SJC. We came in for a late lunch during the week. Ordered the chicken bowl with white rice and veggies. So fresh, delicious and so yummy that I ate my meal and forgot to take a photo! Plenty of seating inside, clean atmosphere and friendly people too. Can't wait to come back. (and post a photo too)
I absolutely love this place and have been coming here for years! Their secret sauce is fantastic. However, I’ve noticed that the bowls aren’t filled up to the brim, which means the lid doesn’t press the food down. As a result, the portions seem smaller than before.

I absolutely love this place! I've been a customer for years and am a big fan of their secret sauce. However, I've noticed that the bowls are not packed as tightly anymore, so the lids don’t push down on the food. The portions seem smaller than they used to be.
The food is always excellent, especially the variety of sauces. However, the cleanliness could use some improvement, as there was trash and debris all over the floor. Additionally, there was an unpleasant odor that reminded me of a damp cloth.
The Flame Broiler remains as excellent as ever, now in a new location. It appears to have been open for just a month or two, and the staff is incredibly friendly. The restaurant is also very clean.
The rice was extremely hard, almost resembling a rock. The few bites I managed to take of my unappealing meal tasted like it had been sitting around for a week.

I'm giving this restaurant one star because it's required. The rice was tough and tasted like it had been left out for at least a week.
The plate upgrade didn't seem worthwhile, as it only included a piece of fruit and a cabbage salad as the side.
