Don 't be lured into old-fashion restaurants with wooden tables and benches... the owners of this one decided wisely to invest in renovations to create a classy dinner escape for those who demand it. Stayed three nights at the Waldeck hotel where the restaurant is located and had dinner all three nights. Absolutely a shame to go anywhere else! Florian is the most dedicated and skilled chef, using creativity, local touch, various themes according to season and top quality...ingredients throughout every dish. Fabulous St Jaques carpaccio, delicious lamb that came as chops, carré, curry to mention some (Easter theme), delicious desserts, and above all: German sized portions! The wine selection focused mainly on German varietals. The restaurant could have benefitted from a wider selection from for example neighbouring Alsace and Bourgogne. This restaurant looks quite typical for the area quiet and understated, however it was a wonderful place for a meal on our last night staying in the Black Forest and we would definitely recommend a visit. A lone waitress did a great job of...looking after all the tables (no one was left waiting for anything), the food was incredible and there are nice views across the valley from most tables. It's not really fine dining, but definitely above average restaurant food and reasonably priced for the quality of meals and service.
we should just stay one night and then go to a Viking cruise. Unfortunately, my man was taken to the hospital for the 6 next days. I could stay there all the time. the owners and the staff were so merciful and helpful during this difficult time. the breakfast was delicious and filled me so much that I didn't need lunch! I ate a few nights and the food was above the top. the location was perfect as the railway station was a simple 10-minute walk from the hotel. we are so grateful and want to return.

although the atmosphere was beautiful and the staff very friendly, eating was a let off. the choice was great and the overall quality was good, but each meal was extremely salty, until fresh vegetables and fish could not be right anymore...available that was a scandal, as it was clear that fresh and good ingredients were used but sadly pampered by the cook. we will not go back
this restaurant is very beautiful. the staff is very friendly and attentive to their needs. eating is great, big teller. we have the raclette one night, that was very good. then we have in another night the fondue (yes, bee again.) that was wonderful....Very nice restaurant. much better than some others.
The restaurant menu is Michelin star quality but reasonably priced especially as part of the hotel half board option. The menu is varied and full of local produce in very interesting dishes. Eating in the restaurant is the highlight of our day when staying at...the Waldeck.
pleasant restaurant with a reasonable choice and civilized trips. they had a special suggestion to create their own menu by ordering a lot of hot and cold appetizers. like tapas or cichetti. very good choice and well prepared. we enjoyed it!
