The balmy summer evening of 29 August was declared night of the Chanterelle by Philippe Lehman and he managed to mobilise lots of people to come to Café Fontaine Soral indeed a full house, and a full terrace as well. Is Café Fontaine becoming a victim of its own success? Certainly service was up to scratch, extra staff was deployed to serve everyone, but the bottleneck seemed to be with the kitchen brigade it was a slow evening, but when things arrived they were top quality and delicious. We were there from 19:30 until 23:30 and saw various tables empty, not waiting for the dessert (which was a pity). The courses were surprising in flavour and presentation. Another thematic culinary evening at Café Fontaine, and another sensational menu. The autumn menu to celebrate the start of the season. A low key amuse of lentils with smoked pheasant set the tone. Next a variation on foie gras, with caramelized grape, and then for me the highlight: scallops in a creamy pumpkin risotto. We refreshed our palates with a sorbet of moût and then went on to serious business: la chasse , a delicious venison with all the tradition al accompaniments. Dessert was so good I forgot to take a picture altogether a wonderful evening out in the pittoresque village of Soral. Now: is CHF176 for all this and a good bottle of wine midrange or fine dining????

We resisted the asparagus dishes, even though they are in season, and went for the snails meurette collected by Chef Philippe himself in the Jura they were delicious. Then we moved on to filets de perche (excellent) and steak tartare (truly cut with the knife). We followed the recommendation of an open Gamaret which indeed was excellent. A most enjoyable evening.

This little restaurant might be a bit out of hand but it is a very nice find. Mainly meat and the unmissable filets de perche, with great presentation and taste. The entrecôte is not massive but the meat is tender and juicy with a great taste. Sweets are also worth the wait, with great presentation. Definitely worth a visit

We booked a table here for the St Valentine, hoping to have a nice romantic meal. The food was excellent and the staff friendly and helpful, but we were crammed into a room that was hot and noisy. It would have been perfect if there were a less tables and they were more spaced out.

Everything was great, starting with the Malakofs and Ossobuco and then the best filet de perched we had in many years, fished from Geneva lake the same day, and perfectly done! We will come back for sure!!!
