Pure excellence. I started frequenting Franklin after becoming suspect about the quality of the fish from my old chippy in the area. After switching allegiances to Franklin, I must admit, I became a little disillusioned to think I have been missing out on properly prepared fish for so many years is just dreadful! The fish is juicy and the batter is of just the right proportion; these two attributes are very rare to find in combination. The other staple of chips are similarly fantastic, the chips are of a consistent size, portion sizes are generous and the texture is soft yet not mushy. The good hygiene practices, with hand gel available at the entrance, created a positive atmosphere. I noticed that the cash register was sanitized after each transaction. I arrived during the last 30 minutes before closing, and they prepared the food fresh for me, which didn't take long. The cod was hot, and the batter was perfectly crispy, just as it should be.
