While exploring the Grove Street area in search of a place to celebrate, we stumbled upon Tamborim and noticed oxtail featured on the menu. We started with pao de queijo with sausage, which was quite tasty, though I personally prefer the cheese bread on its own. My son requested chips, but they weren't on the menu. However, the kitchen kindly prepared some plantain chips for us, which was a pleasant surprise.
The short rib sliders were outstanding—definitely the highlight of the menu. We also ordered the happy hour Caipirinha flight, and all three flavors were excellent. The picanha steak was good, especially when paired with the vinaigrette.

We went in last night for drinks. The atmosphere and decor are very nice, but there were several annoyances. We were seated at the bar and the waitstaff had us shift our seats to accommodate other groups, despite several table-seatings being visibly open.I am not sure if this is a new restaurant or new staff, but when customers came in they were just chilling in the back and thebartender had to greet customers. Finally when we got the bill, we were charged $30 for the flights but the menu says $20. When it came time to settle the bill, we were surprised to find that we were charged $30 for the flights, even though the menu clearly stated $20. The bartenders claimed it was a happy hour price, but there was no mention of happy hour anywhere on the menu, which I pointed out to them. I couldn't shake the feeling that I was being scammed.
On a positive note, the drinks were generally good and quite strong, but I would advise being careful and double-checking the prices before you order. I might consider returning to try the food, but the disorganization in service for the price is a bit concerning.
Tamborim was a great experience! I came here with my gf for our 2yr anniversary and the ambiance was perfect. We didnt wany anything too fancy but we wanted something intimate. The low lit interior was perfect for this. The food was amazing, I don’thave a lot of knowledge regarding Brazilian food, but was definitely not expecting such a delicious chicken stroganoff thathonestly resembles more of a chicken tikka masala in my opinion. The risotto and steak was also stupendous. Would totallyrecommend for a nice date or if you want a nice meal

There are very few places that take me somewhere else and this was one of them. I almost felt like I wasn't in JC with the music, atmosphere, and food. The food is by far amazing and I would rate 6/5 stars. My recommendation is to start the chickenbites and then go for the stroganoff with chicken (better than other Brazilian places I've tried). Caipirinhas (similar tomargs) are a good choice or the other cocktails.
Started out great- if you can not explain the food in an appropriate pleasant way then you should have no problem allowing another server/bartender to assist the customer.. I've been a loyal customer since you opened and I don't appreciate the bad attitude from a few of your servers “don't care about you “ Customer service is dead!!! You as an owner understand this!
Best Brazilian place in Jersey City, if you are craving for good food and even better ambiance you are in for a treat. The staff is amazing, very friendly, I'm Brazilian and I did feel like home. Thank you for a great experience on a beautiful night. I'll be back for sure.
Friendly service, great value happy hour sangrias, and delicious bites mains. Chicken was seasoned, the risotto was creamy, and the sauces were rich complex. Excellent presentation.
