This is another callback to my childhood. My Great Auntie Olga lived right down the way near the petting zoo and this was her spot. This is another place that I treat like Phillipe's with Cole's, don't talk to me about Tony's Frumentos is the only show in town. While on the subject Claro's can't touch them either, they are in a league of their own. When you walk in your are greeted with the vast amount of Italian imports that they carry. You can get sweets, wine, noodles, if you're looking for it they have it. The staff is very friendly and if you are having a hard time deciding they will steer you in the right direction. Frumento's, established in 1958, is located in Montebello on West Beverly Blvd, across from the hospital. I learned about it from a former coworker who spoke highly of it. The building may be old, but it has an authentic charm. Upon entering, the delicious smell of food greets you. Frumento's is both a deli and a market, offering a variety of Italian products. I tried the 12' Italian combination sandwich, the Taste of Italy, which was filled with Proscuitto, Capocollo, Provolone, and more. It was delicious and I would order it again without hesitation. It 's a small family owned deli with a friendly environment. The food is awesome, a little pricey but some of the best Italian food I 've ever eaten. The price is worth every penny. Try the pasta and salad, such a tasty variety of flavors. I was hospitalized for a month or so and I could only think of one thing 'I 'm going to go across the street to eat a Italian sausage 6in. sub sandwich. ' Awesome.!!!

Been passing this place for 3 years I lived 2 blocks away I finally went in and was so happy with what I saw. Just looks like a little family owned deli... I picked up a meatball and a sausage sub standard stuff just to get An idea Of something I've had in the past to compare it to. Now I'm ready to get more adventurous. I will definitely be going back. Lots lots of cheeses And Italian candy

I ordered from Frumentos for a retirement party and the food was delicious and the service was friendly and dependable. They even delivered my order early. I'd definitely recommend this place for catering and big gatherings. I'm giving them a solid 5 stars!!!

I absolutely adore their sandwiches. They are far superior to Subway and Jimmy John's. I first discovered this place in high school when my Italian teacher recommended it. The Italy sandwich is my favorite - the taste truly transports me to Italy.

Seriously, the best roast beef sandwich I've ever had! You pay a little more than most sub places but it's well worth it. You can taste the quality of the food. The guys behind the counter are friendly and get to your order right away.

Everything looked so good at this Italian Market in Montebello. It is so quite yet, very busy. There is sitting area with tables and an eating bar. I just ordered 2 paninis to go. Will be back to try more of their delicious food.

The restaurant serves incredible sandwiches on homemade bread, with various homemade sides and chips rounding out the menu for a fantastic selection.
